It's Sunday and you know what that means! Time for another fun challenge over at the Paper Players! This week, Jaydee is our hostess and she has challenged us to create CAS (Clean and Simple) projects featuring: Watercoloring.
Now, I'm not the best at watercoloring, but it's fun to keep on trying it out. I decided to color-up the Greeting Card Kids stamp set using my Blender Pens and ink pads. I attempted to keep it pretty CAS, which for me, still means a couple of layers. One day, I will make a one-layer card...really. All of the supplies used are listed at the end of the post. Here is a close-up of my awesome coloring skills. *Insert chuckles here.* I added some Dazzling Details (glitter glue) to her little heart and a piece of bling to her hair bow. Yes, I am attempting to distract you with sparkly accents. Is it working? ;)
This card is going in the mail to a good friend who needs a little cheering up (along with a cute pair of earrings from Brighton). Here is a shot of the inside with a sentiment from the (ret.) Occasional Quotes stamp set:
I hope you will share some CAS Watercoloring with us this week over at the Paper Players! The challenge is open until Friday April 20th at Noon (PST). Be sure to visit the rest of the gals on the Design Team to see what they have created this week:

ReplyDeleteAnne Marie, this is so gorgeous! I have this stamp set - it needs more love. Such a lovely card! I am not a big fan of watercolouring either for so reason, but should do it more often. You pulled this off just beautifully!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Shanna :)

ReplyDeleteAnn Marie this is cuter than cute! Your coloring skills are just fine! Love these colors and the little girl is adorable. I Soooooo understand about the layers, you'd have to tie one hand behind my back! hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love the Greeting Card Kids stamp set...although I have yet to buy it! Every time I see a card made with one of those sweet little kids, I ask myself why I haven't gotten it yet?! Now that I know it will be in the new catalog, I might just have to go for it! You did a GREAT job with the watercoloring and it sounds like more people do use the blender pen/ink method with watercoloring than I thought. I'm glad to know I'm not alone! :) Love all of the sweet touches on your card!
ReplyDeleteSo love this sweet image, it is my favourite from that set. You coloured her beautifully and I love the added bling! Really love the layout you used to, it just makes that cute little girl the focus like she should be.
