Tropical Chic for Festive Friday FF0032

Hello there, stamping friends! I’ve been on a wee hiatus and am finally back sharing some projects here on my blog. Last weekend I attended OnStage San Antonio, which is an awesome Stampin’ Up! event. I actually presented AT the event (more on that soon) and also co-hosted an After Party for 80 awesome stampers after the event. To say it was a busy week/weekend would be an understatement. Whew! I’m finally feeling like I can get back to my regular routine.

Just in time for a brand new Festive Friday Challenge! For this challenge, we are celebrating Mother’s Day and/or PINK. You can play along with the holiday or the theme…or both. Please join us and share your project!
If you know anything about me, you know I absolutely LOVE anything PINK! I was not going to miss out on showcasing my favorite color. I guess this could also work for a Mother’s Day card, with the right sentiment inside. But, I went into creating for this challenge focused on the pink element.
I got the inspiration for my card layout from the current sketch challenge from Linda over at Freshly Made Sketches. This is one of my favorite blogs to visit for sketch inspiration. Check it out!
Those two tiny strips on the sketch inspired me to pull out my 6x6 Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper and really focus on a monochromatic card using Blushing Bride as my featured PINK. Blushing Bride isn’t my usual “go-to” pink. It’s not my favorite pink but I am learning to love it. As a “stand-alone” color, it’s REALLY pretty. It’s just not my favorite pink to combine with other colors. It’s still pink though, so I’m not kicking it out of my stamp studio. Haha!
For my card, I simply stamped in Blushing Bride ink and cut out three of the tropical flowers. Then, cut out two of the “ferns” in vellum cardstock. Finally, I added two punched elements from the Leaf Punch, simply punched in Whisper White and then covered in sparkly detail with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

It’s also tough to see in the photos, but I added more Wink Of Stella to the center of the flowers. Then, I added tiny pearls for some added detail. I stuck down the leaf elements with glue dots and then popped up the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
 Card Measurements:
  • Blushing Bride Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4-1/8” x 5-5/8”
  • Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper - 4” x 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 2-3/4” x 3-3/4”
  • Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper - (2 pieces) 1/2” x 5” , 1/2” x 4-1/2”

As always, here is a look insde the card. I layered a 1/2” x 4” piece of  Designer Series Paper on a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Whisper White Cardstock and added a little stamped detail. I didn’t add a sentiments because I intended for this card to have room for a handwritten note. This card is going out to someone who really went above and beyond last week.

So, what do you say? Would you like to join us and share a project? You can check out the Festive Friday Challenge HERE. You can enter your project for this challenge through Monday April 29th at 8pm CST.

San Antonio On Stage Blog Hop

Hello stamping friends! I hope you are off to a great start to your week. Today I am super excited to participate in a blog hop. This past Saturday I went to OnStage here in San Antonio. This is a fun event held by Stampin’ Up that is held in different locations every year where we get to have an amazing day of stamping fun and also get to see what is coming up in the all new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. This year, I was asked to present a new product at this event! I was very honored for the opportunity, although a wee bit nervous.

Today those of us asked to present new products at OnStage are having a blog hop where we are sharing some more projects with the stamping products we used to create for our presentations. All of these ladies are so amazingly talented and I was honored to stamp alongside them on Saturday. The links to everyone’s blogs are listed at the end of this post so be sure to hop along and check out what they have to share today.
My product collection is actually a little bit different as it is NOT in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. The Everything is Rosy Product Medley is a limited time collection of product offered from Stampin’ Up! starting May 1st and available while supplies last. I created 4 projects to share in my OnStage presentation and I’ll be sharing more info on those really soon. I’m having an upcoming class to-go featuring those projects! Whoo hoo!

Today I wanted to share the swap card I made to share with the gals who were also presenting. It was so nice to participate in this swap (thanks Melissa for organizing it!) and the beautiful cards I received are just another wonderful memory from the event.
Here is another look at my swap card. You can see that there is beautiful rose gold foil accents throughout the card. The Designer Series Papers have foil detail on one side and there is also Rose Gold Foil Paper and Rose Gold Shimmer Paint included in the kit. I used the paint to add some detail to add some detail to the center of the flower on this card.
I also was super excited to co-host an event after OnStage this year. We had 80 stampers join us for a fun night of stamping after the big Stampin’ Up! event. It was SO much fun! I also used the Everything is Rosy stamps and coordinating dies to create the “pillow gifts” for the event. It was so fun to share some new product with everyone who attended the event.

Here is a close-up of the tag. I opted to not use the rose gold accents in the kit for the tag because I was clipping the tag to the bag with a gold clip, so I opted to use Gold Foil Sheets for the accent leaves instead. That’s the great part about the kit, you can use it all together or just some of the components to make your projects. The possibilities are endless!

What is included in the Everything is Rosy Product Medley

  • Everything is Rosy Stamp Set
  • Everything is Rosy Dies
  • 48 sheets of coordinating Designer Series Paper, one side with rose gold foil accents, the other with coordinating patterns
  • Rose Gold Shimmer Paint
  • Rose Gold Foil Paper
  • Rose Gold Mirrored Embellishments
  • 2 rolls of coordinating ribbon
  • 6 sheets of coordinating preprinted die cut labels and accents
Basically, it is everything you need to create amazing projects and all you need to add is some cardstock, ink and adhesive. This kit is perfect for the avid crafter who loves to have a coordinating collection of products all in one box.

Here is one box of the completed pillow gifts ready to head to the event. Everyone loved them! The photo below is from the event itself. It was so much fun to visit with everyone and continue stamping the night away on Saturday. Thanks so much to everyone who joined us!
Thank you for stopping by today! Want to see some more projects using products from the upcoming  Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog? Be sure to hop along to see what the rest of the lovely ladies who presented at OnStage San Antonio have to share with you.

Gingham Gala Daisy for PP436

Hello Stamping Friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. It’s Sunday and that means we have another weekly challenge over at The Paper Players. This week, it’s LeAnne’s turn to host and she has a great Theme Challenge: focus your project around Plaid or Checks. We hope you will join us!
I also wanted to play along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge, as well. You just can’t go wrong with starting with a fantastic sketch for your cards. The FMS team always has amazing creative inspiration, so check them out.
The inspiration for my card was a little unusual this week. As I sat down to create, my eye was drawn to a little tube of hand cream I have in my craft room. Working with paper, hand cream is an essential item in here to keep my hands from drying out. The color combo on the packaging instantly got my wheels turning, so I pulled out the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog) and the Daisy Punch. You just never know where you will find creative inspiration. CLICK HERE if you’d like to take a peek at the hand cream I found at Target. Ps: it smells really good, too!

 Today’s Colors

This card came together easily and there is very minimal stamping. Hooray for easy, right? I wanted the gingham paper to be the superstar, as it is the focus of the theme challenge. The simple stamped sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

For the flower, I punched out 2 of the daisies from the Gingham Gala DSP and then punched another daisy out of vellum. I used the 3/4” Circle Punch for the flower center. Then, I added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the center of the flower and on the punched vellum daisy for some sparkly detail. I layered up the daisies and the circle punch adding a Stampin’ Dimensional between each layer to really make the flower pop. Finally, I added a little bow to the center of the flower, because it looked a little “naked” to me without it…and because it was sitting on my desk unused from another project. :)

Card Measurements:
  • Balmy Blue Card Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 4-1/8”
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock (embossed with Striped Scallops) - 3” x 4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (for sentiment) - 5/8” x 2-1/8”
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock (behind banner) -  scrap

As always, here is a look inside the card. As this card wasn’t really for a specific occasion, I just added a little pop of the Gingham Gala DSP and a stamped image from the Daisy Delight Stamp set. I forgot to add to the supply table at the end of this post, so CLICK HERE for more information about that stamp set.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share a project using the color challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday April 12th, 2019.
