Joy to You for PP655

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, LeAnne is hosting our Sketch Challenge.

Sketch Challenge week is ALWAYS a favorite for me and this is certainly no exception! As soon as I saw the sketch I was immediately inspired to create a Christmas card with some brand new stamping goodies. It’s never too early to get started on those holiday cards, right? I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!

*I’ve shared measurements and a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.

Color Combo:
I used quite a few sneak peeks from he Stampin’ Up!® September - December Mini Catalog on my card today. This catalog will go live starting September 6th, 2023 and is filled with all kinds of fabulous products for the fall and winter season and beyond! This card uses one of my favorite new stamp sets: Joy to You. There is nothing like a big, bold sentiment and this card has 4 to choose from. The font is so crisp and clean and the sentiment look extra fancy when they are heat embossed!

I also used a few new products from the Merry Bold & Bright Suite which features a rainbow of bright and happy colors for the holiday season. This entire suite was first on my list as soon as I saw the new catalog! On this card, I used the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper along with the Granny Apple Green Foil Sheets for some extra shine. I also added a little trio of Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs for a little pop of color around the sentiment. I LOVE these embellishments! They come in 5 colors, add fab detail and have a low profile which makes them great for mailing. The ribbon also comes from the new Mini Catalog and it ties beautifully. I love how this card came together and I hope you do as well!

Card Measurements and Details:
  • Poppy Parade Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Granny Apple Green Cardstock: 4”  x 5-1/4”
  • Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper (available 9/6/23): 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”

  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 3-3/4” x 5”, stamp sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink
  • Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper (card interior): 3-3/4” x 5/8”

Hello Ladybug for PP654

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Ann is hosting our Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge.

I just love the theme for this week’s challenge and it was fun to search through my stamps to see what kinds of insects I could find. I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!

*I’ve shared measurements and a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.

Color Combo:
As I was perusing my stamps, I realized I haven’t used the Hello Ladybug stamp set in a while. It’s one of my favorites and I especially love that it coordinates with the Ladybug Builder Punch. I decided to turn the ladybug into a little bee which was super-easy with a few 1/4” strips of Daffodil Delight Cardstock, a little Basic Black scrap to cut-out a “stinger” and some delicate Vellum wings. Of course, I couldn’t miss an opportunity to add some sparkle, so I popped some Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems on the little antennas for a tiny bit of flair.

The Stitched With Whimsy Dies were the perfect way to add some texture but still keep the card Clean-and-Simple. I just love that little bit of extra detail. I wanted to add a little pattern just to bring everything together and the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper was perfect. One side of the paper has adorable critters and the other has whimsical black & white patterns. It’s really versatile and I reach for that paper pack a LOT!

Card Measurements and Details:
  • Daffodil Delight Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 5”  x 3-3/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4-7/8” x 3-5/8”, die-cut frame with Stitched with Whimsy Dies
  • Zoo Crew Series Paper: 2-1/2" x 1/2”, punch right side with Banners Pick a Punch
  • Zoo Crew Series Paper: 2-1/2" x 3/4”, punch right side with Banners Pick a Punch
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to die-cut third smallest circle from Stylish Shapes Dies
  • Vellum Cardstock: scrap to punch bee wings with Ladybug Builder Punch
  • Basic Black Cardstock: scrap to punch bee body with Ladybug Builder Punch and another little scrap to fussy-cut a small triangle for the bee’s “stinger"
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock: (3) 1/4” wide strips to add to bee body
  • Adhesive-Backed sparkle Gems and Black & White Gingham Ribbon
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 5-1/4” x 4”, stamp flowers in Daffodil Delight ink and sentiment in Memento ink
  • Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper (card Interior): 3/4” x 4”

Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a coordinating strip of Designer Series Paper and some stamped flowers for the little bee to snack on. I thought the “You can BUG me anytime” sentiment fit perfectly with the theme of the challenge this week, too. Such a fun card to pop in the mail to brighten a friend’s day!

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Clean-and-Simple “Don’t Bug Me" ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday August 25th, 2023

Darling Details for PP653

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, it is my pleasure to be your host for our Color Challenge.

I selected this fab combo of colors because they are truly gorgeous together and I think they have a lot of possibility. I can see them working well on a fall-themed card or work just as well on a bright and cheery floral or all-occasion card. There are a LOT of possibilities! I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!

*I’ve shared measurements and a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.

For my card, I decided to use the first set that came to mind when trying to decide what to create with these colors. The Darling Details stamp set and coordinating dies have definitely seen a LOT of ink in my stamp room. I just love the fun, playful flowers in this set. They layer up beautifully on cards for so many occasions. I also love that you can stamp the outline image and then the “filler” image for the flowers for coloring made easy. I stamped the outline images full-strength in their ink color and then the “filler” images stamped-off once for a little bit of a lighter ink color.

The sentiment label die comes from a new set called Autumn Leaves that will be available starting September 6th, 2023 in the Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. I added a little pattern with the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper and texture from (my favorite) the Basic #D Embossing Folders. I love how the colors pop on this card and I hope you do as well.

Card Measurements and Details:
  • Sweet Sorbet Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with crosshatch pattern from Basics 3D Embossing Folders
  • Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper: 2-7/8" x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: scraps for stamping / die-cutting flowers and leaves
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: scrap to die-cut sentiment label from Autumn Leaves Dies (from new Mini Catalog, available September 6th, 2023)
  • Accent flowers with Wink of Stella and add Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper (card interior): 3/4” x 5-1/4”

Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a coordinating strip of Designer Series Paper and some stamped flowers to "bring the party" from the font of the card inside. I left the rest blank to include a handwritten sentiment when it is mailed out. I just love all of the fabulous flowers and I hope the recipient does as well. :)

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for my Color ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday August 18th, 2023
