Darling Details for PP653

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, it is my pleasure to be your host for our Color Challenge.

I selected this fab combo of colors because they are truly gorgeous together and I think they have a lot of possibility. I can see them working well on a fall-themed card or work just as well on a bright and cheery floral or all-occasion card. There are a LOT of possibilities! I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!

*I’ve shared measurements and a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.

For my card, I decided to use the first set that came to mind when trying to decide what to create with these colors. The Darling Details stamp set and coordinating dies have definitely seen a LOT of ink in my stamp room. I just love the fun, playful flowers in this set. They layer up beautifully on cards for so many occasions. I also love that you can stamp the outline image and then the “filler” image for the flowers for coloring made easy. I stamped the outline images full-strength in their ink color and then the “filler” images stamped-off once for a little bit of a lighter ink color.

The sentiment label die comes from a new set called Autumn Leaves that will be available starting September 6th, 2023 in the Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. I added a little pattern with the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper and texture from (my favorite) the Basic #D Embossing Folders. I love how the colors pop on this card and I hope you do as well.

Card Measurements and Details:
  • Sweet Sorbet Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with crosshatch pattern from Basics 3D Embossing Folders
  • Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper: 2-7/8" x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: scraps for stamping / die-cutting flowers and leaves
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock: scrap to die-cut sentiment label from Autumn Leaves Dies (from new Mini Catalog, available September 6th, 2023)
  • Accent flowers with Wink of Stella and add Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper (card interior): 3/4” x 5-1/4”

Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a coordinating strip of Designer Series Paper and some stamped flowers to "bring the party" from the font of the card inside. I left the rest blank to include a handwritten sentiment when it is mailed out. I just love all of the fabulous flowers and I hope the recipient does as well. :)

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for my Color ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday August 18th, 2023
