Seascape for PP545

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the lovely Claire is hosting our monthly Color Challenge.
As soon as I saw this color combo, I couldn’t WAIT to create with it! If you have visited me before, you might know that bright and cheery colors just make me happy and this combo features three of my all-time favorite colors. Whoop Whoop!

Looking through some of my new stamp sets, I decided to use the Seascape Stamp set and coordinating Sea Life Dies to create a fun underwater scene. this card was also perfect to try out the new Layering Diorama Dies which also coordinates beautifully with the Seascape Bundle

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
This card came together pretty easily, as the die sets are really the stars of the show. I just love the added detail in the fish and the coral. I accented those pieces with Wink of Stella for some added sparkle and popped the fish and some of the coral pieces on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I heat embossed the sentiment and just love how the white embossing pops on the dark cardstock. That ribbon…oh my goodness. You would have laughed if you saw how many different ways I tried to incorporate it onto the card. In the end, I decided less was more and just added a little pop of it behind the sentiment.

Bermuda Bay, Three Ways: I wanted to add some different shading inside the layered “window” to add some depth to the sea scene. (Ha, “depth"…no pun intended.) The top layer is simply Bermuda Bay Cardstock, with some embossed detail from the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder. The second layer is Bermuda Bay Cardstock with extra Bermuda Bay ink added to darken it a bit and the last layer is Basic White Cardstock shaded with Bermuda Bay ink for a lighter look. I opted to NOT add any dimensionals between the layers and I think the different shades really add some pop without the added bulk.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Melon Mambo Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”

  • Granny Apple Green Cardstock: scrap to die cut three pieces of “coral” from the Sea Life Dies (use one full die cut and cut pieces from he other two)

June 2021 - Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

Hello stamping friends! Today, I am SO excited to share my projects with you for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. We are an awesome group of stampers from all over the world who come together on the second Wednesday of every month to share some creative inspiration and smiles from around the globe. You will definitely want to visit everyone to see their amazing projects. We hope you enjoy hopping along with us this month!

Our theme for the month is “Step it Up!” and it’s going to be fun! We are focusing on sharing projects for ALL crafting styles. Whether you are a Beginner Stamper, a more Casual Stamper or an Avid Stamper, we have you covered this month with projects to inspire your creativity.

***All of the supplies I used to create these cards are listed at the end of this post.
Beginner Card: It’s all about the stamps, ink and paper, y’all! You do NOT have to have a ton of product to get started stamping. In this case, I simply used cardstock, ink and one set of Stampin’ Blends to create my card.

Hot Tip: if you are going to use Basic White for a card base, invest in the Thick Basic White Cardstock. It’s super-sturdy and “made” for card bases. For this card I used the Plentiful Plants stamp set, Thick Basic White Cardstock, Garden Green Cardstock, Inks in Cinnamon Cider, Garden Green and Just Jade along with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends to add some “shading” under the flower pots. You could totally skip this, but I love the subtle detail it adds.

Casual Card: Let’s bring in a few accessories like the Bloom Where You're Planted Designer Series Paper, Genial Gems, Paper Lattice and Linen Thread. I simply cut a little “fence” from the Paper Lattice and dressed it up with the Genial Gems. A simple accent that adds awesome detail.

Here is a peek inside the card:

Avid Card: If you are a fan of ALL the crafty things, buying the entire suite is a good idea! You get the Plentiful Plants stamps, Perfect Pants Dies, Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper and Paper Lattice. Add on the Linen Thread, Macrame 3D Embossing Folder and Genial Gems for more added texture and sparkle.

I added some Wink of Stella to the planter and some of the leaves for some shimmer.
You can never go wrong when sparkle is involved!
