April 2022 - Stamping Sunday Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends! Today, I’m super-excited to share the April 2022 Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This hop is hosted by Sara Levin and we share on the second Sunday of every month. Our theme for the month is to feature products from the  “Last Chance” list from the 2021-2022 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.

When I sat down to create my cards for this blog hop, I pulled an assortment of my favorite products that are on the “Last Chance” list: the Sharing Sunshine stamp set, Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, Brilliant Rainbow Dies and the fabulous (host exclusive) Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. This paper is definitely a favorite and will be missed greatly! I also used the Basic Borders Dies to create some layered clouds. These dies are NOT retiring and I would definitely recommend them as they have so many fun options for borders and details.

Everything on the “Last Chance” list is only available while supplies last, so don’t wait to order! It’s always hard to say goodbye to so many fun products, but it’s also exciting to look forward to all of the awesome new products that will be coming out in the new catalog next month. Here is the link to check out the items currently available on the list: Last Chance Products.

All of the measurements for my project are listed below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this blog post.
***Quick update: As I was getting this ready to post on my blog, I noticed that the Sharing Sunshine stamp set is already sold out. Unfortunately those “Last Chance” items are only while supplies last, so availability can change pretty quickly. I had already created my projects and didn’t have time to re-do them before the hop. I think it would still be easy to recreate the sunshine image on the Layering Circles Dies. You could even draw the face, cheeks and sun rays yourself with some markers and just use a different sentiment. Where there is a will, there is a way, right? ;)

Here are two more cards using the same stamp set and that awesome Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper and the Sending Sunshine stamp set. The color combo features BumbleBee, Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana

These cards also use the following “Last Chance” items:  Checks & Dots Embossing Folders, Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon, Flirty Flamingo Metallic Ribbon and Metallic Pearls
Finally, here is a peek inside the first card. I added a strip of coordinating DSP along with a sentiment from the Sending Sunshine set. I added some playful dots around the sentiment for an extra pop of color. Such a fun thank you card, ready to pop in the mail!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! Please continue along on the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop to check out more awesome creative inspiration.

Nothing’s Better Than for PP585

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Ann is hosting a super-fun Theme Challenge.
Don’t we all need a little more laughter these days? I just love Ann’s “Laughter is the Best Medicine” Theme Challenge this week. It’s always so much fun to open up some Happy Mail from a friend that instantly brings a smile to your face. I sure hope you will join us and play along!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
While diving through my stamp sets trying to decide what to use for this challenge, I had to stop when I got to the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set and coordinating Love You More Than Dies. This set is so darn cute and I don’t use it nearly enough. It features little chocolate, cocktail and cookie images and the coordinating sentiments are great. I don’t know about you, but cookies almost always make me smile and that’s how this cutie-patootie cookie card came about!

To add some extra detail to the cookies, I heat embossed them with Black Embossing Powder to make those chocolate chips stand out a bit more. I also randomly stamped cookies all over the Crumb Cake layer, then embossed the cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. It adds the most subtle texture which I love. This embossing folder is one of my favorites and sadly will be retiring soon. If you don’t already have it, it’s a good one to add to your papercrafting collection!
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Real Red Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, randomly stamp the cookies in Crumb Cake ink, then emboss the layer with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder
  • Real Red Cardstock: 3-3/8” x 4-5/8”, die-cut using the second largest scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Contours Dies
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 2-5/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/2” x 3-3/4”, stamp sentiments in Momento ink
  • Basic Black Cardstock: scrap to die cut the word “cookies” from the Love You More Than Dies (TIP: add an adhesive sheet behind the cardstock before cutting to turn the die-cut word into a “sticker” to make it easier to adhere.)
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp 5 (or more) cookies in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. Stamp the “filler image” in Crumb Cake ink. (TIP-I also colored in the “gaps" with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends)
  • Die-cut the cookies with the Love You more Than Dies.
  • Red Rhinestones and Black & White Gingham Ribbon
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): stamp cookie outlines in Momento ink, cookie “filler” images in Crumb Cake, fill in gaps with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, then stamp the hearts in Real Red ink using the Sweet Conversations stamp set
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I simply added a trio of stamped cookies, because cookies are always better when you have more than one, right? After I stamped the cookies, I felt like it needed a little something more, so I stamped some hearts using a stamp from the Sweet Conversations stamp set. If the recipient is going to enjoy all of that delicious cookie goodness, they fully have my love and support. Haha!

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our fun        Theme ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday April 8th, 2022
