Rock Star for PP672

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, I am thrilled to be your host for our Color Challenge.

A New Year means a clean slate. So I decided to do a fun BLACK and WHITE color combo with a fun twist. Add a pop of bold color to the mix. The color or colors are up to you…just have FUN! I sure hope you will join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!

*I’ve shared a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.

It’s no secret that I’m a little bit smitten with the new Rock Star stamps and dies from he new Stampin’ Up!® January - April Mini Catalog. I have been having so much fun plying with this set. The coordinating Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper is a fab mix of black and white patterns, too. I’m always a fan of black and white DSP. It has so many options. Keep it black and white, color it, mix patterns…it’s just so fun to create with.

My “pops of color” are Azure Afternoon and Highland Heather. I also added a little bit of Smoky Slate to ground the colors a bit. I originally added silver foil in place of the Smoky Slate. It was a little too flashy, even for me. I added extra texture from the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder, some flash from the stars cut from the Holographic Trio Specialty Paper and Wink of Stella for some added sparkle.

I mentioned recently on a Facebook Live video that I really wanted to do a purple guitar because it reminded me of Prince, who is a total rock icon. I actually met Prince once…on an elevator in a hotel in Columbus, Ohio. So random, right? I cracked a joke and made him (and his 2 bodyguards) laugh. He was really nice and really short…but he was wearing GIGANTIC shoes. Haha!

Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I simply added a strip of black cardstock and two fussy-cut speakers from the Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper. Lots of room for the handwritten sentiment. I made a bunch of these cards for a demonstrator swap, too.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 19th, 2024

Hot Air Balloon for PP671

Happy Sunday and Happy New Year, friends!
Time for first creative challenge of 2024 over at The Paper Players
This week, the lovely Ann is hosting our Theme Challenge.

Our theme this week is “Cheers to the Years” and we are sharing projects celebrating BIRTHDAYS! What a great way to kick off the new year then by getting a head start on that stash of birthday cards, right? We all need ‘em, so why not play along and share your crafty ideas. I sure hope you will join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!

*I’ve shared a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.

For my card, I decided to use the new Hot Air Balloon stamps and dies from the Stampin’ Up!® January - April 2024 Mini Catalog. This little bundle is so much fun and creates the happiest cards. It was one of the first sets on my list to order and I’m so happy I did!

The coordinating Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper and Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots compliment this set beautifully and I just love the soft mix of colors. There is also a set of baker’s twine that also coordinates so this site really has everything you need to create happy birthday cards and more!

Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I simply added a strip of DSP and coordinating sentiment. I made a dozen of these cards for a demonstrator swap because you can never have too many birthday cards in your stash, right?

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our "Cheers to the Years” Theme ChallengeWe’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 12th, 2024

This is our first challenge with our 2024 Guest Designers! Welcome Cynthia Stevenson and Jolanda Johnstone! Looking forward to creating alongside you this year. :-)
