Dynamic Duos #52 - Our One Year Anniversary Celebration!

Hello stamping friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day so far. I am very excited today to share that Dynamic Duos is having a big celebration this week: Our One Year Anniversary! How awesome is that?!

I remember when my dear friend Lesley Croghan and I originally talked about this two color challenge. It hardly seems as though a year has gone by. I have been really honored to be a part of Dynamic Duos since the beginning and to work in my role as the Challenge Manager. You can select ANY one of our past color combos for your project, so there are lots of choices for inspiration this week.
There are so many color combos that I have loved over the past year, but in looking through the past year of challenges, the combo that still grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it is the "Bold and Sassy" combo of Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. We used these colors together in week #10 of the challenge and I am celebrating our anniversary by pairing them together, yet again.
I reached for a set I seem to rarely use: Betsy's Blossoms. That little bird is super cute! I also wanted to make a card with a lot of layers...I know that is very shocking to anyone who visits my blog regularly. Haha! I stamped the bird twice in Rich Razzleberry ink. Once on Whisper White card stock and once on Old Olive card stock. Then I cut out the "wings" in Old Olive card stock and paper pieced them to create a little more dimension. I wanted the frame to pop a bit more so I added some Iridescent Ice embossing powder to the scalloped edges to give them some sparkle and shine. All of the rest of the products I used are listed at the end of this post.
Here is the photo of my original card for Week #10 of the challenge.
You can find the details of this card on my original blog post by CLICKING HERE.

Dynamic Duos #6 - Sparkly Regal Blossoms

Hi y'all! It's time for challenge #6 over at Dynamic Duos! As this is the second week of the month, we are focusing on a soft and subtle color combo. This time we are creating with  Regal Rose and Basic Gray. I love this combo! Although ANY combo that features a shade of pink is always a great mix in my book. :)
I was also inspired by this week's sketch over at Stamping 411. You know how much I enjoy their awesome sketches! Although after I got the card put together, I realized I didn't really separate the panel that the circles are on. Ugh! I hope thar is ok, gals. Next time, I really need to print the sketch out and not rely on my horrible memory for the design. (*note to self)
I used the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set for the flowers, although the sentiment is retired. I never get rid of any sentiment stamp sets. You never know when you are going to need them. In creating this card, guess who realized that she does not have any ribbon to match Regal Rose? This girl. What is up with THAT? I had to dig for some retired Basic Gray ribbon to finish the card off. I tried something a little different for the bow, using the cover of the new Stampin' Up catalog for inspiration. It adds some fun dimension to the card along with the embossing.
Hope you will join us at Dynamic Duos and play along with this fabby color combo this week. Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the lovely ladies on the Design Team have created this week:

A Sketch Challenge at Our Creative Corner

Hello and Happy Saturday to you! This week at Our Creative Corner,  the fabulously talented Meihsia Liu is our hostess and has a fun sketch challenge to play along with. The details are simple: follow the sketch above and be sure to create a ribbon bow on your project. Simple, right? I hope you will join us and play along!
I'm continuing to have fun with all of the new Stampin' Up! sneak peek goodies from the upcoming catalog. As soon as I saw the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set, I knew it would quickly become a favorite. I don't know who Betsy is, but she certainly has a fun sense of style! The bird, the big flower behind the bird and flowers on the inside of the card come from this set. Love it!

I used the color combo from the new Floral District DSP and my guide for the card. I really like how the yellow pops! I cut out and then popped-up the bird and punched circles for some dimension. I also added some spots of bling to dress it up a bit. All of the supplies I used are listed at the end of the post. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email. :)
Here is a quick shot of the inside of the card:
