Peaceful Boughs for Facebook Live

Hello everyone! For my Facebook Live video this week, I featured three projects using one of my favorite holiday stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog, the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and the coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies. It’s never too early to start on those Christmas cards, so I had a lot of fun with a little “Christmas in July” theme.

To check out the video for how these projects were made, click here: Peaceful Boughs Facebook Live.

On Friday at 4:00 PM CST, I go Live over on my Stampin’ Anne Facebook Page with some fun Stampin’ Up!® projects. Please join me and if you can’t make it Live, you can always watch the replay. Also, I’d like to invite you to join my Stampin’ Anne Facebook Group for more updates, promotions, upcoming classes and exclusive projects. Everyone is welcome!
My first card featured more of a bright and cheery color combo. I just love that pop of Bermuda Bay with Granny Apple Green and Real Red, don’t you? The embossed background adds some extra texture and of course I used some Wink of Stella for extra sparkle.

***I also want to mention that I have a link to a downloadable PDF with measurements for all of these projects listed toward the end of this post.
Here’s a close-up of the texture and detail.
My second project was a gate fold card, where I used the little “sprigs" from the Beautiful Boughs Dies to crate a wreath. This card also features the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper which will also be returning to the Mini Catalog starting on August 4th
Gate fold cards are super-easy to make and just have that extra “wow” for the recipient. I dressed up the wreath with some pearl accents, colored with a Bronze Stampin’ Blends Marker.
My last project was a fun holiday card using the more traditional colors of Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce. The Buffalo Check Background adds a fun rustic pattern and this card also features the new Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder which will be available on August 4th in the new August - December Mini Catalog. I also featured this card for the Third Thursday’ sBlog Hop last week, you can see that blog post HERE

Above the Clouds for PP450

It’s Sunday and time for another fun challenge over at The Paper Players! This week, LeAnne is hosting a Color Challenge with an absolutely gorgeous trio of colors: Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue. Swoon! I just love bright and vibrant colors and this combo was so much fun to work with. I hope you will join us this week with your project!
There are a couple of colors in the Stampin’ Up! lineup that work really well with a variety of color combos and Granny Apple Green is one of them. I tend to use this color a LOT! Boy, does it ever pop in this trio though. I don’t know about you but sometimes I see a color combo and a stamp set immediately comes to mind. As soon as I saw these colors I knew I wanted to use the Above the Clouds Bundle (stamps/punch) for my card.
Once I started making my card, it dawned on me that I didn’t have ANY Designer Series Paper that would work well on my card. Shocking, right? So, I decided to create my own! I stamped the Buffalo Check background stamp in Blueberry Bushel ink on Balmy Blue Cardstock. Then, using a ruler, I drew in some additional color using the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends marker. It reminds me of a flannel shirt!

Next, I layered the homemade DSP on a piece of Blueberry Bushel Foil Paper (from the Noble Peacock Foil Paper pack) to add a little shine. I’m actually going to make a few more of these cards (with a swap of the sentiment) to have more masculine birthday cards on hand. I don’t know about you, but I never seem to have “guy cards” when I need them.
The clouds in the background are stamped in Balmy Blue ink stamped-off once on scrap paper to make the color a little more subtle. I wanted to add some ribbon and went back and forth with a few different colors and styles. I felt like the 1/8” Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon was TOO thin and then decided to wrap it around the Whisper White Layer twice to make it stand out a little more.

Once the card was assembled, it needed a little something as a finishing touch and rhinestones/sequins/pearls weren’t going to cut it. The Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots were just right for adding that little pop of detail on the balloons.

 Card Measurements:

  • Blueberry Bushel Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Granny Apple Green Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Blueberry Bushel Foil Paper - 1-3/4” x 5-1/8”
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock (stamped with Buffalo Check background stamp) - 1-5/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Scraps of Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake and Whisper White Cardstock for stamped, punched and die-cut images
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock (inside card, stamped with Buffalo Check background stamp) - 1-3/8” x 5-1/4”

Finally, here a look inside the card dressed up with a coordinating sentiment and a little more of the Buffalo Check homemade DSP. I colored the bottom of the balloons with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends marker and went over the top of the balloons with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share a project using this fantastic color combo. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday July 19th, 2019.
