This week, the fabulous Ann is hosting our Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge.
For this creative challenge, we were able to create projects for ANY holiday…but I think a lot of us on the Design Team had Christmas on our minds. The clock is ticking to get those cards finished to mail out on time, after all. I decided to pull out some products I haven’t used yet from the Trimming the Town Suite in the Stampin’ Up!® August - December Mini Catalog. One really important thing to note is that $3 from every Coming Home stamp set in this suite (either purchased individually or as part of the bundle with the dies) will be donated to charities devoted to adoption, foster care and infertility.
*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
For my card, I actually didn’t use the stamp set from my bundle. Actually, the only stamping on the card are the sentiments from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp. The house and treat images ARE part of the stamp set though and are great to color with Stampin’ Blends Markers. However, if you are looking for a quick and easy way to put your card together, the Home Together Dies also cut out the images that are pre-printed in the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper.
This card came together so quickly, even I was surprised. Haha! The DSP and the dies do all of the work. I accented with some Wink of Stella on the trees and on the windows of the house for some frosty accents and also popped some adhesive backed snowflakes in the “sky” for some extra sparkle without extra bulk on the card. This bundle is one that is versatile beyond the holiday season, too. I think it will be fantastic to welcome a new neighbor or to congratulate a friend on a new home. It’s an awesome set to have in your stamp collection, for sure.
Card Measurements and Details:
- Misty Moonlight Card Base: 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”
- Poppy Parade Cardstock: 4” x 5 1/4”
- Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper (snowflake pattern): 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”
- Whisper White Cardstock: 2 pieces to die cut the snowy “slopes” using the Home Together Dies, layer them to create the scene and trim the pieces to fit over the 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” piece of DSP
- Old Olive Cardstock: scrap to die cut three trees from the snowy “slopes” die, trim them and glue down to card front. Accent with Wink of Stella for added sparkle.
- Whisper White Cardstock: 3/4” x 1 3/4”, stamp sentiment in Poppy Parade ink and punch a banner on the bottom using the Tailored Tag Punch
- Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper: die cut one house and one wreath from the coordinating patterns using the Home Together Dies
- Poppy Parade Ribbon (from All the Trimmings Ribbon Combo Pack) and Adhesive Backed Snowflakes
- Whisper White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5 1/4”
- Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper (small house pattern, inside card): 1” x 5 1/4”
Finally, here is a peek inside the card. I added a little strip of DSP along with another stamped sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. This really is a great sentiment set for the holidays!
