Never played along with our challenge before? It’s easy. Create a project featuring the holiday (Senior Citizen’s Day), the theme (Retro/Vintage Style) or mash it up and feature a combination of BOTH. Please join us, we’d love to see what you create!
For this challenge, I immediately knew I wanted to feature another one of the sassy seniors from the On To Adventure stamp set. I actually needed a retirement card so this challenge was timed perfectly! This is the perfect card for someone who is now going to have a lot of extra time for his favorite activity: golfing! I started by coloring this little dude with my Stamping Blends Markers. This image itself has a lot of shading already in the stamp so coloring is super-easy. I’ve listed all of the products I used to create this card at the end of this post.

This card came together pretty easily using the Stitched Rectangle Dies to add the layers. The stitched detail is a great accent, too. I framed the fun sentiment with a little banner to play off of the golfer’s tiny flag. I also added a trio of clear epoxy drops as a final touch.
Card Measurements:
- Real Red Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Night of Navy Cardstock (embossed with Subtle Embossing Folder) - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
- Neutrals Designer Series Paper - die cut with 4-3/4” Stitched Rectangle Die
- Whisper White Cardstock - die cut with 3-1/2” Stitched Rectangle Die
- Real Red Cardstock - 3/4” x 3”, each end punched with Banner Triple Punch
- Scrap of Whisper White for stamped sentiment die cut with Layering Oval Die
- Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
- Neutrals Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 1” x 5-1/4”
Finally a peek inside the card. I added another pop of the patterned paper and the Happy Retirement sentiment. I just love the font in this stamp set, don’t you?
