Christmas Layers for PP471

Hello and Happy Sunday to you!
It’s time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, LeAnne is hosing our LAST challenge of 2019
with this beautiful Color Challenge:
Seaside Spray and Crumb Cake are such a pretty color combo together, but adding the silver just makes them pop! So pretty!

I used the Christmas Layers Dies to dress up the background. I die-cut two of the “starry” images in Silver Foil and adhered them to the Seaside Spray layer. With intricate dies like these, I find it is best to use a Stamping Sponge and liquid glue to dab some adhesive on the back of the die-cut images. Use less glue than you will think you need on the sponge. A little goes a long way. You can always add more if you need it, but you can’t take it away.
After I adhered the die-cut “stars”, I colored-in the “loopy” areas (such a technical term, I know) in white to give them a little more detail. My sweet friend, LeAnne (who is hosting this challenge) sent me an awesome white gel pen for my birthday last month and this was the perfect project to ty it out on. The gel pen is called Acrylista and it is by Zig. Thank you so much LeAnne! I loved trying it out for your challenge!

*You could also use the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker from Stampin’ Up!® to create a similar effect. I tried it out and it works great, too!
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp set using the Shimmer White Embossing Powder. Then, I added a little pop of sparkle behind the sentiment layer with a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Dies using Silver Glimmer Paper. To finish everything off, I colored a trio of rhinestones with the Crumb Cake Dark Stampin’ Blends Marker and added a fluffy bow. All of the supplies I used are listed below.

Card Measurements:
  • Crumb Cake Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Seaside Spray Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Scraps of Silver Foil, Silver Glimmer Paper and Crumb Cake Cardstock for die-cut images
  • Whisper White (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Scraps of Silver Foil for die-cut snowflakes (inside card)
Finally, a peek inside the card, simply dressed up with a coordinating sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and a trio of foil snowflakes die-cut from the Christmas Layers Dies.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Color Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday December 13th, 2019. I’d also like to say a HUGE thank you to our Guest Designers for being part of the team this year. On a personal note, this past Monday we said good-bye to our sweet Ozzy. It has been an incredibly difficult week and I am just heartbroken. We are missing him so much, but know that he is no longer in any pain. I still remember the first time I saw him at the shelter, we connected instantly. He was a very special little guy!

Gather Together Treat Holder for Facebook Live

Hello everyone! For my Facebook Live video this week, I made some fun little Ghirardelli treat holders using products from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog! Chocolate always makes a fun little treat to share and these are perfect for any occasion. To check out the video for how this card was made click here: Gather Together Treat Holder Facebook Live

Every Wednesday at 12:00 PM CST, I share a new project tutorial over on my Stampin’ Anne Facebook Page. Please join me and if you can’t make it Live, you can always watch the replay. Also, I’d like to invite you to join my Stampin’ Anne Facebook Group for giveaways and exclusive projects. Everyone is welcome
Isn’t this a fun little box? I’m not sure who to give credit to for the style of the box, but I have used it for quite some time and altered the measurements to fit a variety of different treats. Any flat square or rectangle treat is a good fit for this style of box. For this particular box, I like how the treat sits a little lower in the box to showcase the Come To Gather Designer Series Paper a little more.

Ghirardelli Treat Holder Measurements:
  • Merry Merlot Cardstock - 4” x 7”
  • On 4” side, score at 1/2” and 3-1/2”
  • On 7” side, score at 1”, 1-1/2” and 4-1/4”
  • Come to Gather Designer Series Paper - 2-1/2” x 2-3/4” and 7/8” x 2-3/4”
  • Scraps of Copper Foil, Cajun Craze, Merry Merlot, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla Cardstock for die cuts
If you’d like to see how the box comes together, be sure to check out the video. It’s super easy! If you’d like to make coordinating card for this box, CLICK HERE for an idea I shared on Monday.
Here is another take on the box with a different color combo and pattern of the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper. I used some Gold Glimmer Paper as well for a little sparkle. I’ve listed all of the supplies for all three boxes at the end of this post, for reference.
For another alternative on this box, I used the Perfectly Plaid Bundle and Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped and punched two trees and on the second tree I just scored down the middle, glued it to the first tree and folded it for some extra dimension.

Last week on Facebook Live, I shared a coordinating card for this box. You can find it HERE
I hope you enjoyed these projects using the Perfectly Plaid Bundle! Once again, here is the link to watch the Facebook Live video for more details: Gather Together Treat Holder Facebook Live.
