March 2021 - Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

Hello stamping friends! Today, I am SO excited to share my project with you for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. We are an awesome group of stampers from all over the world who come together on the second Wednesday of every month to share some creative inspiration and smiles from around the globe. You will definitely want to visit everyone to see their amazing projects. We hope you enjoy hopping along with us this month!

If this is the first time you are visiting my blog, I’m Anne Marie Hile from San Antonio, TX and I am so happy that you are visiting today. Welcome!
Our theme for the month is “3-D Projects” so it’s going to be a fun hop for sure! I love getting new ideas for treat boxes and gift ideas. Pretty packaging makes ALL the difference. I had some fun with an idea using the Shark Frenzy stamp set and coordinating Shark Dies from the January - June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. I just received them this weekend and couldn’t wait to break them in. That was the inspiration for my projects, I hope you enjoy them!

Here is a link to my Facebook Live video for more info on putting these projects together: http://bit.ly/3vgnNzq

*I’ve also shared all of the project measurements below along with a full supply list at the end of this post.
Color Combo:
This cute box holds a 6” x 8” Cellophane Bag filled with Goldfish Crackers. Pretty cute, right? I had fun building this little scene using the Well Suited Designer Series Paper to guide my color combo. I just loved the plaid with the little bow tie on the shark. There is a lot of Wink of Stella Detail on the shark, the tie, the waves and the fish, that’s tough to see in the photos. It really stands out, in person, though.

I used the sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set, which is always a “go-to” set for so many occasions. The image has some extra detail but I simple cut out the sentiment and snipped a little banner end to make it fit on the treat bag. it was so perfect with the sassy look on the shark’s face, don’t you think?
Box Measurements and Details:
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock: 9” x 5-1/2”
  • On long side, score at 1/2”, 1-1/2”, 4-3/4” and 5-3/4”
  • On short side, score at 1”
  • Well Suited Designer Series Paper: 3-1/8” x 4-3/8”, adhere to box as shown in photo, then die cut a a circle using a 2-1/4” circle from Layering Circles Dies
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock: die cut 2-1/2” circle from Stitched Circle Dies, then die cut 2-1/4” circle from Layering Circles Dies to create stitched “frame”.
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock: die cut a trio of fish and stamp/die cut a bow tie, accent with Wink of Stella
  • Pacific Point Cardstock: die cut waves and accent with Wink of Stella for sparkle
  • Vellum Cardstock: die cut three leafy sprigs
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp / die cut shark and a 1-1/2“ x 1” piece to stamp sentiment and banner cut left side
  • Window Sheet: 2-3/4” x 2-3/4”, adhere to inside of box (You could also skip this step, since the cellophane bag protects the treats, but I already stuck it down, so I just went with it!)
  • Fill 6” x 8” Cellophane with Goldfish Crackers. I used the pizza flavored Goldfish because they matched the colors of the projects and tied the bag closed with white ribbon from Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack
I decided to make a coordinating note card because you can’t give a little gift withOUT a card, right? After I die cut the circle from the treat box, I didn’t want to waste the plaid circle, so I just worked it into a coordinating card. I used the same elements as the box with the waves, leafy sprigs and the trio of fish. But I decided the smaller shark fit better on the layered circle. Look at that itty-bitty hat he’s wearing. Eek!! I love that there is a die for that! Sassy sharks are even more fun when they accessorize their look. :)

I decided to use the Basic White Note Cards and Envelopes for the card. I always seem to forget about these. They are a little smaller than a standard card, but they pair perfectly with little treat boxes to write a handwritten note. I used another sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set because it fit perfectly on the card. Did I mention how much I use that set?
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Basic White Notecards and Envelopes: card measures 7” x 5”, scored at 3-1/2”
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock: 3-1/4” x 4-3/4”, stamp “bubbles” for fish and emboss using Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
  • Pacific Point Cardstock: die cut waves and add Wink of Stella for sparkle
  • Vellum Cardstock: die cut two leafy sprigs
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock: die cut one 2-1/2” circle from Stitched Shapes Dies and a trio of fish from Shark Dies, accent fish with Wink of Stella
  • Well Suited Designer Series Paper: use the 2-1/4” circle you die cut from the treat box
  • Basic White Cardstock: stamp and die cut shark (accent with Wink of Stella) and stamp sentiment on piece measuring 1” x 1/2”
  • Basic Black Cardstock: die cut hat for shark
  • Navy Baker’s Twine from Well Suited Twine Combo Pack

So Sentimental Cherry Blossoms for PP502

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Laurie is hosting our monthly Theme Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
This challenge came at a really good time, as I needed a wedding card for later this month. I never seem to have wedding or anniversary cards ready to send, so this is great inspiration to get going on a few extra to have on hand.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for this card below along with a full supply list at the very end of the post.

Color Combo:

When I started making my card, I immediately was drawn to the Cherry Blossom Dies. I just love all of the awesome detail these dies add to a project. I layered them up with the branches and leaves and accented the flowers with one of my favorite embellishments: the Champagne Rhinestones. I also added my favorite “sparkle spray” to dress the flowers up a bit. I have mentioned this before but this is super-easy to make. Simply add a couple drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to a Stampin’ Spritzer, then fill it up with rubbing alcohol. Then shake, shake, shake it up and spray for lots of fabulous sparkly detail. Tip: use 70% rubbing alcohol or less, because the higher percentages tend to make the paint “ball up” a bit.

One of my favorite stamp sets for all-occasion sentiments is So Sentimental. How perfect is this sentiment to celebrate a wedding? Best part, the sentiments in this set perfectly fit in the coordinating Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I popped in some Champagne Foil because I thought it was an elegant detail. I almost NEVER use a white card base but in this case, I just felt like it worked. One little tip I have is that if you are going to use Whisper White or Very Vanilla as a card base, it’s always best to use the THICK cardstock. It just holds up better as a card base because let’s be honest, nobody likes a “floppy” card base.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Thick Whisper White Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Champagne Foil - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Peony Garden Designer Series Paper - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp sentiment from So Sentimental stamp set and die cut using Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Early Espresso Cardstock - scrap to die cut two of the branches and flower “centers” from the Cherry Blossom Dies
  • Pear Pizzazz Cardstock - scrap to die cut leaves from Cherry Blossom Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to die cut flowers from Cherry Blossom Dies, spritz flowers with a mixture of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol (70% or less) in a Stampin’ Spritzer for added sparkle
  • Champagne Rhinestones
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Peony Garden Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 3/4” x 5-1/4”
  • Add another die cut flower with leaves to the inside of the card using the Cherry Blossom Dies.
Finally, a peek inside the card. I simply added another strip of the DSP, a sentiment from the Floral Essence stamp set and a little floral accent. I totally forgot to link the Floral Essence stamp set in the product list below. You can find it HERE.
