Simple Saturday and a Give-Away Winner!

Hello there and Happy Saturday to you! Better late then never with this post today. Today was a very busy day. Whew! I thought I would share the card I didn't post last week for "Keep it Simple Saturday". I was doing really well posting a CAS (clean and simple) card every week...last week I broke the streak. *sigh*

My card was pretty simple in the fact that I simply pulled out a piece of Greenhouse Gala DSP that I had yet to use. I grabbed card stock in coordinating colors and used last weeks sketch from The Paper Players for the design. The colors have a very retro, "1970's-vibe", don't you think? The only stamping is the sentiment (from the Wow Flowers set). The whole card took about 15 minutes to create, including the finished inside:
Today is also the day to announce the winner of the April Subscription to Craft Project Central! Whoo hoo! Thank you to everyone who took the time to leave such nice comments! :) After entering the total number of comments that were left into random.org:
**The lucky winner is Patti C.!!**
Please stop by her blog, What are You Inking and check out her awesome creations! Congratulations, Patti! Please email me at: annemariehile (at) satx (dot) rr (dot) com so I can give you the deets about your subscription to CPC.

Have a HAPPY rest of your day today! :)

Bright and Sunny Birthday

Happy Tuesday! Well, it looks like it's going to be a hot and humid fall day in Texas today. Nothing like a 90 degree day in mid-October to put you in the mood for the fall season. HaHa! Since the temps feel so much like summer, I thought why not crank up the air conditioning and play around with some bright colors this morning.

I used this fun color combo from Pals Paper Arts (I will never miss any opportunity to use Melon Mambo, by the way. LOVE that color!):
I paired it up with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch:
I didn't intend on using this much Melon Mambo on the card (it is REALLY pink!) but it just kind of fell together that way. I decided to use the Playful Pieces (hostess, level 3) stamp set again because it was still sitting on my desk from the last card I made. It really am starting to like the versatility of this set. You can really do a lot with it for pretty much, any occasion. The sentiment is from the Wow Flowers set. I flipped the Top Note around from the sketch completely on accident...oops. It was already stuck down though, so I just left it alone. I also decided on the pink ribbon from my stash (looks like it could be a Melon Mambo impostor) because the loops tied in with the loops on the presents. Then I added some buttons, bling and glitter glue to dress it up a little more.
Stampin' Up! Supply List:
Stamps: Playful Pieces, Wow Flowers (sentiment)
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait and Melon Mambo classic inks
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Melon Mambo and Whisper White card stock and Peach Parfait DSP In Color pad (level 1, hostess set)
Accessories: Top Note Sizzix Die, Scallop Trim Border punch and Perfect Ploka Dots embossing folder
Non SU! Accessories: pink bling, glitter glue, ribbon and buttons

Have a great day!

Circle Circus Inspiration

Have you ever stumbled upon a card and absolutely fell in love with everything about it? I sure did! When I saw this one, I knew I HAD to CASE it...which is a pretty rare thing for me to do! I used a slightly different shade of blue and a different embellishment then the original, so I guess it had a little originality. (*wink, wink*)

One of the great things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is every month we receive a fabulous "demo-exclusive" magazine delivered right to our mailboxes. It is filled with loads of great ideas and inspiration. That's where this beautiful card sample came from! Just so I give appropriate credit, this card is from the May 2010 issue and was created by a fellow demonstrator, Lisa Nichols.

This card uses one of my absolute favorite stamp sets, Circle Circus! This stamp set is so versatile on cards for any occasion! Every image in this set also coordinates with a punch so it makes it THAT much easier to whip up a beautiful card with perfectly cut-out circles, EVERY time! Also included on this card are three of the new colors introduced in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog: Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist and Early Espresso. See the full product list below.

Stampin' Up! Supply List:

Stamps: Circle Circus, Wow Flowers (for the "Thank You" in the center circle)
