Heartfelt for FF0051

Hello and Happy Friday! Time for a brand new Festive Friday Challenge. For #FF0051, our festivity is Valentine’s Day, which is coming up on February 14th. Our Inspo List features 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Incorporate THREE (or more) of the items in your project and link up to the challenge! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about Valentine’s Day – at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with some fun and interesting ideas to inspire your creativity!
My Inspo List Picks: Hearts - Pink - Glitter - Doilies - Red

Although the projects don’t have to focus on the festivity, as soon as I saw the challenge I knew I wanted to make a Valentine’s Day card! I’m absolutely smitten with the Heartfelt Bundle from the Stampin’ Up!® 2020 Mini Catalog right now. The Heartfelt stamp set is perfect for Valentine’s Day and the coordinating Heart Punch Pack makes it super-easy to cut out the images. The coordinating ribbon, DSP and embellishments in this suite all use work so beautifully together, too.

Color Combo:

The Detailed Hearts Die is also new and is so fun to add some extra pizzazz to cards. You can use the full die-cut image, like I did here, or cut little accent pieces. Don’t forget to hang onto those little hearts that are die-cut from inside the hearts, too. That’s a lot of hearts from one die, that’s for sure!
I cut out two of the die-cut images, one in Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and the other in Sparkle Glimmer Paper. Then, I spritzed a mixture of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint mixed with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer bottle to add some sparkle to the Flirty Flamingo Cardstock. I find that using the 70% rubbing alcohol works well to mix with the Shimmer Paints. Higher percentages tend to “clump” the paint.

I adhered the die cut image to the card front by adding Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the solid hearts. Next, I filled in some of the hearts with the Sparkle Glimmer Paper hearts using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  It does take a little time and patience but I just
love the added detail. I also dressed-up three of the Flirty Flamingo hearts with the From My Heart Faceted Gems.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Real Red Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • From My Heart Specialty DSP - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Tie a piece of ribbon around DSP
  • Adhere DSP to Whisper White White Cardstock layer then adhere to Real Red Card base using SNAIL or Liquid Glue
  • Die-cut two of the Detailed Hearts Dies, one in Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and one in Sparkle Glimmer Paper (details of this step above)
  • Stamp “Happy Valentine’s Day” heart in real red ink on Whisper White Cardstock and punch using Heart Punch
  • Punch the scalloped heart out of the From My Heart DSP
  • Adhere the two punched hearts to a Heart Doily using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • From My Heart DSP (inside card) - 3/4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, here is a look inside the card. I added a little strip of that gorgeous DSP along with stamped images from the Heartfelt stamp set.

Hop on over to the Festive Friday Challenge to see what the rest of the Design Team  shared this week. We’d love to have you join us with your project! The challenge is open from today through Monday February 3rd at 8:00 PM CST, so you have plenty of time to play along.

Beautiful You for PP474

Happy Sunday! It’s a new week and time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players. This week, Laurie is our hostess for our monthly Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Theme Challenge Check it out and play along with us!
So, it’s Clean-and Simple Week and if you have visited me before, you know that is my “struggle week”. CAS cards are generally defined as those that keep layers and embellishments to a minimum. Guess what? I think I might have FINALLY hit it this week! I know my friends on the Design Team will probably get a chuckle out of that. It’s only taken how many years…LOL!
The inspiration for my card came from a card I received quite some time ago from my sweet friend, Teri. She has created some beautiful cards with this stamp set and really made me fall in love with it. I love the line art images and the sentiments are so pretty. This sentiment just makes me smile: “Celebrate…Life looks beautiful on you.”

Color Combo:

Card Measurements and Details:
  • Basic Black Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Lovely Lipstick Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Using the scoring blade on your Paper Trimmer, score a single line at 1/4” on all 4 sides of Whisper White Cardstock to create a “frame”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (sentiment) - 2-1/8” x (just a little over) 1/2”
  • Stamp sentiment on cardstock and trim ends at an angle
  • Fold a 1-3/4" piece of Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon in half and stick to back of sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensional
  • Add a rhinestone to sentiment
  • Stamp image in Momento Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends Markers
  • Use Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add detail to the hat, dress and water on stamped image
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4"
Finally, here is a peek inside the card. I added a sentiment from the Beautiful You stamp set along with a little layered die-cut flower or a pop of color. The flowers are from the In the Tropics Dies, I forgot to add them to the supply list below.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Clean-and-Simple Theme Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday January 24th, 2020

Sweet Treats - January Third Thursday’s Blog Hop

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! This month, our theme for the hop is Sweet Treats. Everyone on the hop will be featuring awesome projects to inspire your creativity. I’ve listed all of the hoppers toward the end of the post, so make sure you stop by and see what they have to share today!
Valentine’s Day is less than a month away, so this hop was great motivation to make some cards and treats. I don’t know about you, but I don’t really give “gifts” for Valentine’s Day. I do. however, always need little treats to share with friends, neighbors and co-workers. Today, I’m sharing a card and Tic-Tac holder featuring the Heartfelt Bundle from the Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog
One of my favorite things about this bundle is that includes two punches! Don’t get me wrong, I love my die cuts, but punches are just super-easy to use. The Heart Punch Pack features two different hearts and the smaller heart layers perfectly over the scalloped heart. Want to know the BEST part? The punches perfectly punch-out the some of the heart patterns in the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is also part of this suite. This paper has beautiful pearlized detail on many of the patterns which adds great detail without a ton of work.

Color Combo:

Card Measurements and Details:
  • Real Red Cardstock - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Flirty Flamingo Cardstock (embossed with Scripty 3D Embossing Folder) - 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
  • From My Heart Specialty DSP - 1-3/4” x 3-7/8”
  • Real Red Cardstock - 3-1/2” x 2-7/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 3-1/4” x 2-5/8”, stamp sentiment it Real Red Ink on left side
  • Scrap of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock - punch scalloped heart from Heart Punch Pack
  • From My Heart Specialty DSP  - punch foiled heart from patterned paper using heart punch
  • Add ribbon and From My Heart Faceted Gems
Since not everyone appreciates chocolate, these little Tic Tac’s are a fun Valentine’s Day treat. I found these at Target and I love that they come in the red, pink and white mix. This little holder is super-easy to make, which is great if you are making a lot of them. It opens like a little book and you simply tie it closed with a ribbon. I used two Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the Tic Tac’s to hold them in place on the cardstock.
Tic Tac Holder Directions and Details:
  • Real Red Cardstock - 4-3/4” x 3”
  • On long side, score at 2” and 2-3/4”
  • Using Detailed Trio Punch, round both corners on front and back
  • From My Heart Specialty DSP - 1-3/4” x 2-3/4” (2 pieces, round 2 corners)
  • Run ribbon around front and back and adhere the DSP over the ribbon
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside) - 1-3/4” x 2-3/4” (round 2 corners)
  • Scrap of Whisper White for stamped heart
  • From My Heart Specialty DSP - punch the scalloped heart out from the pattern on the DSP
  • Add From My Heart Faceted Gems
Finally a peek inside the card. I kept it pretty simple with a 1” x 4” strip of the DSP layered over a 5-1/4” x 4” piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I added a simple stamped image and left space for a handwritten note.
