Hand-Penned Petals for PP606

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, I am super-excited to be your host for our Sketch Challenge.
If you have visited me before, you might know that Sketch Challenges are my FAVORITE! They are such a great starting point to get your creative mojo working. I had fun designing this sketch and I hope you are inspired to share your creativity with us this week!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
For my card I started out with a stamped images that was sitting on the corner of my desk. I had stamped the floral image from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set for another project I was working on and didn’t end up using it. I didn’t want it to go to waste, so I added it to the little pile of “misfit card bits” to hopefully use on another project. It caught my eye when I sat down to create with this sketch, so I picked out my color palette and went from there.

I’m on a bit of a Pool Party kick lately, so I searched for some DSP in that color for one of the layers. The Design A Daydream Host-Exclusive Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites. Not only is it a HUGE pack of paper but the patterns are so versatile for so many designs. It is available for a great price as a host reward for a (minimum) $150 order.

Pool Party and Pale Papaya are two colors that really pair beautifully together, so that was my pick to color the flowers along with a little pop of Old Olive on the leaves. Such a soft and pretty color combo, don’t you think?
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Pale Papaya Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Pool Party Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder
  • Design A Daydream Host Exclusive Designer Series Paper: 2-1/2” x 5-1/8”

  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Design A Daydream Host Exclusive Designer Series Paper: 3/4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I added a strip of the DSP along with a little pop of a stamped image to "keep the party going" from the front of the card. I didn’t add a sentiment to allow room for a handwritten thank you note.

Positive Inkers Design Team - August 2022

Hello there stamping friends! I’m thrilled to be blog hopping today with the Positive Inkers  Design TeamWe are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the globe who are super-excited to share our love of creativity. I’m so happy you stopped by today!

If this is the fist time you are visiting, please let me introduce myself. My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in San Antonio, Texas. Welcome!
Our theme for this month is: Floral Projects. Full disclosure, I have a plethora of floral stamp sets from which to pick, so this was not an easy decision. I finally decided to just peruse my floral sets and pick the one that “spoke” to me for this project. I decided to go with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and coordinating Penned Flowers Dies from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my cards below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.

Color Combo:
For this card, I actually colored the die-cut image first and then went scouting for coordinating products. I probably should have picked the coordinating colors/product first, but it really made for a fun little scavenger hunt. Haha! Then, I decided to make a shaker card, because I’m kind of obsessed with the For Everything Fancy Sequins. Everything is better with some sparkle, right?

I added a piece of the Lovely Linen Designer Series Paper which features Pale Papaya. Then, I needed some Mint Macaron paper to tie the colors in. Hmmm, the Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper came to the rescue. This paper is white with either silver or gold patterns and it totally versatile. Plus, you can earn it for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration (through 8/31 or while supplies last). I grabbed a Blending Brush and shaded the paper with Mint Macaron. Whoop…instant coordination! The rest of the details are listed below. :)
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Mint Macaron Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11", scored at 5-1/2" and folded in half
  • Lovely in Linen Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration): 3-7/8” x 1-3/4”, add Mint Macaron ink with a Blending Brush
  • Window Sheet: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • For Everything Fancy Sequins: fill shaker element attach a few to the background DSP with liquid glue for added detail
  • Mint Macaron Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, die-cut with second largest rectangle from Stitched Rectangle Dies
  • Vellum Cardstock: scrap to die-cut 2-3/4” circle from Layering Circles Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp floral image in Momento ink, color with Stampin’ Blends and die-cut
  • Accent floral image with Wink of Stella
  • Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/2” x 1/2”, stamp sentiment in Momento ink and punch left side with Banners Pick a Punch
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Lovely in Linen Designer Series Paper (inside card): 3/4” x 5-1/4"
Here is a look inside the card. I added a strip of DSP and a partial stamped/colored image. I wanted to bring the colors from the front of the card inside! I left the sentiment blank as this card can be used to celebrate so many occasions. I thought I could either add a sentiment when I’m ready to pop it in the mail or simply add a handwritten note.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Please stop by to visit everyone on the hop and leave us a comment to say hello. We’d all love to hear from you and so appreciate you stopping by. If you are following the hop, my sweet friend Jo Blackman in the UK is your next destination. I just finished an AMAZING online retreat this past weekend with Jo and I know she has something gorgeous to share with you. Hope you enjoy ALL of the beautiful projects everyone shared today!
