Our theme for this month is: Christmas
Well, it’s November and Christmas will be here before we know it! It’s a great time to get started on those holiday cards, if you haven’t already. I always plan to start quite a bit earlier on my cards, but life gets so busy sometimes, doesn’t it? I still have a considerable amount to create so this month’s theme was perfect inspiration and I hope it inspires you as well.
Color Combo:
I am really enjoying the Merry & Bright stamp set and coordinating dies from the Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. I am a big fan of non-traditional colors for holiday cards. Don’t get me wrong, there is something classic and elegant about a red and green Christmas card. I do enjoy them. But sometimes I do like to create with unexpected colors for a little pop of fun and this suite of product definitely delivers there!
The Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper has to be one of my all-time favorites right now. Not only is it perfect to create whimsical holiday cards but many of the patterns are perfect for everyday occasions, too. I added four 3-5/8” x 1-1/8” strips on the Basic White layer for a little extra detail. Those little lights just make me smile!
I also am really enjoying the Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green Foil Paper in this suite. It really packs a “WOW” and brings the die-cut bulbs to life. The string, filaments and bulb caps were cut from Silver Adhesive-Backed Foil. I do believe the Glimmer paper is out of stock right now, but it could also be subbed with Silver Foil or even Blueberry Bushel Cardstock and would still look fantastic!
I added a simple sentiment popped up on dimensionals and finished everything off with the Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs. These embellishments are so awesome because they add lots of detail without bulking up your card too much. Love that!
Finally a peek inside the card. I simply added another strip of that fabulously festive paper and a coordinating sentiment. Just for fun, I added more of the discs for a little pop of shine, too. Such a fun card, don’t you think?
