Hello Stamping Friends! I’m thrilled to join the fabulous Positive Inkers Design Team for our October 2023 Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the globe who are super-excited to share our love of creativity. I’m so happy you stopped by today!
If this is the fist time you are visiting, please let me introduce myself. My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in San Antonio, Texas. Welcome!
Can you believe it’s October already? All of a sudden I feel like this year just sped up and here we are. This week we are FINALLY going to start cooling down here. 80 degrees, but it’s better than 100, that’s for sure. The evenings will be dipping below 60, so I’m going to have to dig out my sweaters. Haha! I know that may not be chilly for many of you but 5 months of triple digits, it’s going to take some getting used to.
I was so excited for our theme this month as I always need thank you cards and I decided to create one with an Autumn theme. If you have visited me recently, you might know that I’m a little obsessed with the Autumn Leaves Bundle stamp and dies from the Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. I can’t stop using those gorgeous leaves! I decided to pair the dies with the sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set on this card, just because I wanted a larger sentiment for the layout I had in mind. The sentiments in that set are super-versatile, I reach for it often!
*I’ve listed details for my projects below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post
I have a lot of little details on this card, so let me share a few highlights. I dry embossed the Very Vanilla layer with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing folder then added some Crumb Cake ink around the edges with a Blender Brush for added depth. The sentiment is heat embossed with clear embossing powder by first stamping in Versamark, then in Early Espresso ink. I just love how it makes the sentiment a little bit bolder with that pop of pretty shine.
Two of the leaves were die-cut from the fabulous Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper. t just adds the most beautiful hint of shiny detail. Then, I watercolored three of the die-cut leaves using watercolor paper and Water Painters. The larger leaves were washed with Cajun Craze ink first, then I added some Copper Clay ink to deepen the color a bit. The other leaf uses Crushed Curry ink. After the watercolored leaves were dry, I flicked some water droplets on them for a little more detail. I think that is one of those things that can be seen an little better in person, but trust me, it looks cool. I just love how this leaf cluster looks paired with the photographic paper from the All About Autumn Specialty DSP. I whipped up a few of these cards to have on hand this month.
I hope you enjoyed my project today and that you are inspired on this hop to create some thank you cards as well. Please stop by to visit everyone on the hop and leave us a comment to say hello. We’d all love to hear from you and so appreciate you stopping by. If you are following the hop, you will head to visit Sandy McCullough if you didn’t start the hop from the beginning.
We are also doing an Instagram hop today and I’d love to have you check it out. If you aren’t already following me on Instagram, you can find me HERE.
