Cherish the Season for PP506

 Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players. 

This week, Ann is hosting our Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenges are always a lot of fun because there are SO many options to inspire your creativity. You can pick a row across, down or diagonally and use the elements in that row for your project. If you are feeling particularly daring, you could always go for ALL of the squares. 

 My card features elements from two different rows on the board:  

• Stitching - Ribbon  - Die Cut  
• Ribbon - Embossing - Gems/Dots.

I also covered that  Metallic square, with the foil paper and silver embossed sentiment. I couldn’t quite hit ALL of the squares on the board but I think 6 is a pretty solid effort. 

I decided to open up a the Cherish the Season stamp set and the coordinating Sounds of the Season Dies from the Stampin’ Up!® August - December Mini Catalog to create this fun and festive Christmas card. I went with simple, traditional colors with accents of foil and sparkle. I love how it came out and I hope you do as well.

I was VERY inspired to create with the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. Sometimes simply seeing a particular card layout can instantly make me think of a stamp set that I want to create with and that is exactly what happened here. 

Card Measurements and Details:

• Shaded Spruce Cardstock - 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2” 
• Real Red Cardstock  - 4” x 5 1/4” 
• Whisper white Cardstock - 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”, embossed with Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing folder and then spritzed with a mixture of rubbing alcohol mixed (70% or less) with a few drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint
• Real Red Cardstock - die cut 2 3/8” x 4” rectangle from Stitched Rectangle Dies, heat emboss sentiment using Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Versamark ink and a Heat Tool
• Silver Foil Sheets - die cut bells, color leaves on the larger bell using Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, add Red Rhinestones to the “berries” on the larger bell and to the top  of the bell on the two smaller bells
• Green Foil - die cut leafy accents
• Crinkled seam binding and rhinestones
• Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5 1/4”, stamp sentiment in Real red ink and add another leafy die cut and die cut foil bell, color leaves and berries on the bell using Stampin’ Blends

Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a coordinating sentiment along with another die cut foil bell. It just keeps the festive party going from the front of the card.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing - World’s Greatest

Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators who love to share alternative project ideas for Paper Pumpkin, the monthly One Stop Box from Stampin’ Up! Today we are sharing ideas from the August 2020 Paper Pumpkin - World’s Greatest!

What I love about Paper Pumpkin is that it is designed for EVERY level of crafter. If you want to make the projects as designed, the box has you covered with everything you need. Done and done! You can also “step up” the kit with a few additional supplies, if you are more of an “avid crafter". Paper Pumpkin is truly for everyone! Besides, right now is a great time to mail out a handmade card or drop off a little treat to your neighbor. We all could use a little smile, right?

My first alternative project is a shaker card! Everyone loves a shaker card, right? I LOVE the big adhesive foam frames that come with the kit, so I wanted to make sure to utilize every one of them. I decided to pull out my Stitched Stars Dies and there you have it. The star sequins from the kit mixed with the Pacific Point stars make for a fun combo, right? Not TOO flashy, but still has a colorful, interactive element. The gold trim and Gilded Gems just add subtle detail without being over-the-top.

Shaker Card Measurements: 

• Mint Macaron Card Base - 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2” 
• Mint Macaron Cardstock - 4” x 5 1/4”, embossed using Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing folder, adhere to card base
• Plaid frame, acetate window sheet, sequins and foam adhesive shaker frame from Paper Pumpkin Kit
• Die cut 4 of the larger “swirly” star images from the Stitched Stars Dies and use all of the little star “bits" (that’s a technical term) that are punched out from the die. You can also snip off the itty-bitty stars from the die cut using scissors for some extra confetti pieces.
• Die cut three Stitched Stars from Pacific Point Cardstock and adhere to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals
• Whisper White Cardstock - 2 1/4” x 5/8”, stamp sentiment in Pacific Point ink and punch right side using Banner Triple Punch 
• Decorate card front with a gold bow and three gold Gilded Gems

My second project is an adorable treat holder. You can put a variety of items in this little holder from chocolates to a little antibacterial hand gel. I have three Ghirardelli chocolate squares in this one. I could have done two but three FIT and when it comes to chocolate, the more the better, right? 

PS: The Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Caramel (the blue square) is soooo yummy! It’s probably my favorite flavor, although I wouldn’t turn down any of these little treats. 

Ghirardelli Treat Box Measurements: 

• Pacific Point Cardstock - 8 1/2” x 2”
• On long side, score at 3 3/4” x 4 3/4” 
• Plaid card base from Paper Pumpkin Kit - 7 1/4” x 1” 
• On long side, score at 2” , 3” , 5” and 6” 
• Here is a pic of how to best utilize the score line that is already on the pre-printed card base to make this strip fit your box a little easier: 

• Punch either end of the Pacific Point Cardstock using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
• Die cut a 1 7/8” stitched circle from Bumblebee Cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Dies
• Use gold foil “medal” and banners from Paper Pumpkin Kit
• Stamp sentiments in Pacific Point ink on the die cut circle from the Paper Pumpkin Kit
• Accent with one Gold Gilded Gem
• Tie box closed using Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon

I thought I’d also share one additional project I created with some of my “scraps” from assembling the projects for today’s blog hop. I absolutely love the beautiful argyle/plaid patterns in this month’s kit. I cut up a few of the card bases to create some DSP (Designer Series Paper) for additional cards. 

For this card, I used the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle paired up with a panel of the argyle pattern along with a simple sentiment. You can never have too many cards on hand to send to a friend to just say hello. Since everything was already on my desk, I just kept creating with the kit! :)
