Sketch Challenges are always so much fun and this one is certainly no exception! I just love having a card layout to get that creative mojo working. It’s always so fun to see how everyone uses the sketch for the challenge too. I hope you will join us and play along this week!
*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
As son as I saw the sketch I was inspired to make my first Christmas card of the year! Pretty random, right? Haha! I guess what I meant to say was that I was inspired to INK UP a new stamp set from the upcoming July-December Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog which starts on July 1st. The Christmas Scottie stamp set and coordinating Scottie Dog Punch were the first items on my preorder earlier this month. As a pet lover, I just can’t resist a cute dog or cat stamp set! Even though this is technically a Scottie dog, it reminds me so much of my beloved Emmitt the Schnauzer with that scruffy face. The set features three adorable images and the punch cuts out the “standing” Scottie along with a fun little bow.
I wanted to feature all of the different Scottie images on my card and though it would be fun to create a little scene on the front of the card with this week’s sketch. My original plan was to have the little dogs “holding” the embossed sentiment and then I thought it would be fun to incorporate the sentiment into a stack of glittery gifts highlighted with the new Red Glimmer Paper. Because once the glimmer paper comes out, it’s tough to resist adding “just a little more”. For that reason, I also added little strips of the glimmer paper to their little collars along with a rhinestone “tag”.
I also used the new Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper for the background. This paper is AWESOME and will also be available July 1st. The Basic White background behind the dogs is also embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder for added texture. I love how this card came out and I hope you do as well. :)

Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I stamped the last of the little Scottie dogs and a fun coordinating sentiment. I love how he is looking at the sentiment, too. Of course, this little guy needed a festive sparkly collar as well. So stinking cute, right?

This week, I featured the June 2022 “Pick of the Crop” Paper Pumpkin Kit. For those of you that might not be familiar, Paper Pumpkin is a monthly “one stop box” of creative inspiration from Stampin’ Up!®. The kits can feature cards, treat holders, decor ideas and more. One of the things I love about Paper Pumpkin is that it is a perfect box for ALL stampers whether you are a beginner or have been stamping for years. Everything you need to make the cards created for the box is included. The June kit features a fun Farmer’s Market vibe and although this kit has already shipped, I wanted to share a little more about Paper Pumpkin so you don’t miss out on the NEXT kit…more info on that at the end of this post!
Here’s my version of the cards in the June kit. I simply added a cardstock base and one additional layer. If you have visited me before, you might know my affection for layers on my cards, so this is generally how I step up the kit cards a bit to make my “layer-loving heart” happy. These cards were so easy to put together because the kit components are really the star of the show.
I also created an alternative card with the fun stamp set included in the kit along with some additional supplies. This is just another way to get more from your Paper Pumpkin kit. You can get more info in the video and the measurements and supply list are listed below. PS: I did end up adding the scalloped border to the card after the video. I liked how it added a little more texture and color to the card.
One of the perks I offer to my customers who purchase their Paper Pumpkin kits through me is a PDF project tutorial with over 10 alternative project ideas (like this one). The tutorial is sent via email and features directions, measurements and a supply list with lots more creative inspiration for the kits. Sign up for Paper Pumpkin HERE.
If you’d like to watch the video with the details on how to put the cards together, you can check out the video posted above. I realize if you are subscribed to my blog via email that video might not show up for you, so CLICK RIGHT HERE and it will take you to my YouTube channel to watch the replay. I’d love it if you’d subscribe to my channel while you are there, it’s still pretty new so I’d love your support. :)

Here is a peek inside the card! I simply added a little strip of Night of Navy Cardstock along with another stamped strawberry to “keep the party going” from the front of the card.
