Free as a Bird for PP493

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Jaydee is hosting our monthly Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
I love a good Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! It’s so fun to use the options to inspire your creativity. For my card, I decided to use the row right down the center as my inspiration: Girly - Die-Cut - Friendship. There are SO many different options with this week’s challenge, which row will YOU choose?
For my card, I decided to use the Free as a Bird stamp set because it has beautiful images and the sentiments are great for a card to send to a dear friend. I also really like this stamp set because it is so perfect to color with Stampin’ Blends markers.

The stamp set also perfectly pairs with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, which are very versatile and one of my favorite die sets. I’ve listed all of the measurements for this card below and there is also a supply list at the end of the post.
Here’s a little story and I hope it gives you a chuckle. Do you see those fun details tied in the Linen Thread bow? That leaf and key come from the Bird Ballad Trinkets! I love these little accents but believe it or not, this is the first time I have used them. I think I just forgot about them in the drawers of my stamp studio. Sadly, they will be retiring in just a couple days, so I better get busy using them, right? They really make for a fun accent on a card, so if you love them as well, get them while you can. Just make sure not to lose them in your craft room. Haha!

Beautiful World for Facebook Live

Hello everyone! For my Facebook Live video this week, I featured three projects featuring a sneak peek of a new suite which will debut in the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog on June 3rd: World of Good. This suite features the Beautiful World stamp set and the World Map Dies.  To check out the video for how these projects were made, click here: Beautiful World Facebook Live.

On Friday at 4:00 PM CST, I go Live over on my Stampin’ Anne Facebook Page with some fun Stampin’ Up!® projects. Please join me and if you can’t make it Live, you can always watch the replay. Also, I’d like to invite you to join my Stampin’ Anne Facebook Group for more updates, promotions, giveaways and exclusive projects. Everyone is welcome!
My first project was a Double Point Fold Card! This particular fold has been around for a while and I was inspired by it once again after seeing a card on Pinterest (using the retired Petal Palette stamp set) from a fellow demonstrator, Lisa Curcio.

Double Point Fold Card Measurements and Details:
  • Early Espresso Cardstock - 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4” and another piece to die cut the 3-3/4” Stitched Nested Labels die, sponge Crumb Cake ink around edges using Stamping Sponge
  • World of Good Specially Designer Series Paper - 3” x 4”, two pieces
  • On 3” side of DSP pieces, score at 1”, then fold the corners on the 2” area into the center of the DSP, refer to the video for the details
  • EarlyEspresso Cardstock - die cut a 4-1/4” Stitched Nested Label, a globe “base” and a detailed globe from the World Map Dies
  • Merry Merlot Cardstock - die cut one detailed “strip” from World Map dies and trim to approx. 2-1/4”
  • Gold Foil - die cut one of the “swirly” images from the World Map Dies
  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock - Die cut the solid globe from the World Map Dies
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock - stamp sentiment in Versamark ink, heat emboss in gold and trim around sentiment, trim ends at an angle
  • Gold Gilded Gems and Linen Thread
Here is a look at the card opened up! I love that the fold is a little different, yet still easy to make. I punched the sentiment using the Classic Label Punch and layered it on the smallest oval in the Stitched Shapes Dies to pop in a little color.
My second project was this bookmark, again featuring some heat embossed detail and some of the other images from the stamp/die bundle. You can also see another card that coordinates with this bookmark by CLICKING HERE to see my blog post from May 21st.

Bookmark Measurements and Details:
  • Merry Merlot Cardstock - 2-1/8” x 6-1/8”
  • World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper - 1-7/8” x 5-7/8”
  • Merry Merlot Cardstock - scrap to stamp feather image, heat emboss in gold and die cut using World Map Dies
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock - scrap to stamp ink image in Momento Ink and die cut using the World Map Dies
  • Basic Black Cardstock - scrap to stamp sentiment in Versamark, heat emboss in gold and die cut using the 1-7/8” circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies
  • Bookmark sleeve ordered from Amazon - Link to order HERE
  • Very Vanilla Metallic Edge Ribbon - color with Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends Marker
  • Burlap Trim (retiring) or Linen Thread - tie a bow
The third project I featured was another card showcasing the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, which are also featured in this suite. Many of the papers have a brass foil detail which is stunning, in person. I decided to just let the paper take center stage for this card and also showcased a brand new In Color: Cinnamon Cider

Card Measurements and Details:
  • Basic Black Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”

  • Basic Black Cardstock - scrap to heat emboss sentiment and die cut using Tasteful Labels Dies (also NEW)
