Dandelion Wishes for PP488

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Laurie hosting our monthly
Sketch Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
It’s always fun to have a good starting point for a card layout and that’s why I love sketch challenges. Often, as soon as I see the sketch I’ll have a stamp set pop into my mind to use with it. That is exactly what happened here. I love the Dandelion Wishes stamp set so much and I knew that little trio of dandelions would fit perfectly on the card layout.

Then it was time to pick some colors to use. I always seem to use this stamp set with soft subtle colors, so i thought it would be fun to brighten it up a bit using fun patterns in the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper. I’ve listed all of the card measurements below along with a supply list at the end of the post.

Color Combo:

I’m on a kick right now with Heat Embossing. I seem to be using it on a LOT of cards lately. I just love the added shine and detail it adds to an image and I thought the white embossing really helped the dandelions pop. Of course, the Gold Gilded Gems (my new favorite embellishment) added the perfect finishing touch to the centers of the flowers.

I needed a thank you card and the sentiments in the Dandelion Wishes stamp set weren’t really working for the occasion OR the  card layout, so I pulled out the Kindness and Compassion stamp set. I just love the scripty font, don’t you?

Just a quick note that the Kindness and Compassion stamp set, Grapefruit Grove cardstock/ink and  Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper are on the Last Chance List right now and are available while supplies last through June 2nd. You can see all of the items on the Last Chance List HERE

Ornate Style for PP487

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, I am super-excited to be hosting our monthly
Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
I added a fun twist to the Clean and Simple theme to feature SPARKLE on your projects. You can add as much or as little as you would like but dress up those projects with some sparkly goodness.
Don’t you love that floral image? It is from a new stamp set called Ornate Style which is going to be featured in the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog in June. But guess what? It is available to order right NOW as part of an early release. It is part of the Ornate Garden Suite which is so beautiful. You can learn more about those brand new products HERE

Ok, so Clean-and-Simple is usually a bit of a struggle for me but I think I finally found a groove. I think all of the sparkly details distracted me. Ha! I decided to go with a black and white color combo to really let the glitz and glam take center stage on the card. I just think there is something so elegant about a simple black and white card, too. I added in the sentiment from To a Wild Rose stamp set because it was so simple and i just love the font. I also added a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to the inside of the card to write a handwritten note.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Basic Black Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”, embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Sparkle Glimmer Paper - 3-3/8” x 4-7/8”
  • Adhere glimmer paper to Whisper White Layer using SNAIL or glue
  • Wrap a piece of Black Glittered Organdy ribbon around the Whisper White layer, secure on there back using SNAIL or Mini Glue Dots
  • Adhere Whisper White layer to card base using SNAIL or glue
  • Basic Black Cardstock - 3-1/8” x 4-5/8”, rub Embossing Buddy over cardstock, stamp floral image in Versamark Ink, cover image with Shimmer White Embossing Powder, tap-off excess, heat emboss image using Heat Tool

  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to die cut 1-3/4” Stitched Nested Label Die, stamp sentiment from To a Wild Rose stamp set in Momento Ink

Sending Healing Hugs for FF0057

Hello and Happy Friday! Time for a brand new Festive Friday Challenge. For #FF0057, our festivity is National Nurse’s Day, which is coming up May 12th. Our Inspo List features 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Incorporate THREE (or more) of the items in your project and link up to the challenge! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the National Nurse’s Day – at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with some fun and interesting ideas to inspire your creativity!
My Inspo List Picks: Red - Get Well Sentiment - Blue - Hearts - Balloons - Green

So, I have to tell you a story. This is probably one of my favorite cards that I have EVER made! It’s no secret that I love bright and cheery colors and that was the inspiration for this card. When I looked at the Inspo List, I decided to pull out a stamp set from my collection that hasn’t seen a lot of ink: Meant to Be. I have used the coordinating Stitched BE Mine Dies a whole bunch, but the stamps, not so much. That was where the idea for the balloon bouquet popped into my head.
I was also super-inspired by the current As You See It Challenge, which features a rainbow theme. Rainbow cards just make my heart happy. I love all of the happy colors! I’ve listed all of the measurements and details below and there is also a full supply list at the end of this post.

My color combo for this card:
Here is the deal y'all, right now we all need some cards to share some sunshine and make someone’s day a little bit brighter. I chose a get well sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set for my card because I have a friend who really needs it right now. But you could just as easily change out the sentiment to send some happy mail to one of your friends fro any occasion. This is also a FABULOUS card to use up all of those cardstock scraps in your craft room. You all know that you have them, if you are like me you probably have more of them than you’d care to admit to. Haha!
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Basic Black Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Strips of Lovely Lipstick, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 3/4”
  • Black Foil - 2 scraps measuring 3/4” x 5-1/4”each, die cut with the scalloped border from the Stitched Be Mine Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 5-1/4” x 2-3/4” , embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp and die cut six heart images using the Meant to Be stamp set and Stitched Be Mine Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp and die cut the sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set and Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Tie a bow with the Whisper White Baker’s Twine and add to card with a glue dot
  • Add two rhinestones to frame the sentiment.
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
For the inside of the card, I stamped another rainbow of hearts and left the rest blank to  write a handwritten note for a friend. I hope you love this card as much as I do!

Hop on over to the Festive Friday Challenge to see what the rest of the Design Team  shared this week. We’d love to have you join us with your project! The challenge is open from today through Monday April 27th at 8:00 PM CST, so you have plenty of time to play along.
