Bloom By Bloom for PP420

Hello and Happy Sunday to you! This week over at The Paper Players, we have an awesome Sketch Challenge from Sandy. It’s no surprise that I really enjoy sketch challenges. Thy are a fantastic way to get your creative mojo going. When I saw Sandy’s sketch, I was immediately inspired to create with some new products from the Happiness Blooms Suite from the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog which launches on January 3rd. It was nice to take a little break from Christmas projects to ink up some new stamps!
I just love Sandy’s sketch! I think it is perfect for a simple layout or to showcase lots of fabulous layers, which I did on my card. The only thing I did a little differently was to switch up the placement of the sentiment a bit. The sentiment is also from a new stamp set called Butterfly Gala, which will be available in the upcoming Occasions Catalog.
The Bloom to Bloom stamp set and coordinating products are so much fun! I love the bright colors in the suite, featuring Call Me Clover, Calypso Coral, Lovely Lipstick, Night of Navy and Pineapple Punch. There is also a new Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that adds great texture to the background. I cut out and layered two of the floral images together with Stampin’ Dimensionals because I really wanted to tie in a little pop of the Lovely Lipstick color. Then I added some Night of Navy enamel dots (also new!) and a little baker’s twine bow to finish everything off. I just think it is a such a bright and cheery card, don’t you?

Card Measurements:

  • Night of Navy Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Calypso Coral Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Happiness Blooms DSP - 1-3/4” x 4-1/2” and 1-1-2” x 4-1/2”
  • Night of Navy Cardstock (for DSP layers) - 2” x 4-3/4” and 1-3/4” x 4-3/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 2-1/2” x 2-1/2”
  • Night of Navy Cardstock - 2-3/4” x 2-3/4”

Here is a quick shot of the inside of the card. I kept it pretty simple to add a little note but dressed it up with a little piece of that fabulous Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper.
Before I sign-off, I thought I would share a photo of Ozzy and Gidget Louise on Thanksgiving. Although they didn’t have a full Thanksgiving spread like the humans did, they did enjoy a little treat with their dinner. Nothing too fancy, just some plain ol’ mashed sweet potatoes, which they love. They are pretty easy to please.

Won’t you join us and share your project this week?
You can link up your project through Friday November 30th, 2018 at Noon PST.

Swap Cards and Team Gifts for OnStage 2018

Hello everyone! Today I’d like to share with you my swap cards and team gifts from Stampin’ Up! OnStage in Orlando earlier in the month. I always wish I would start getting swaps ready earlier for these events. I never seem to have enough time! I did sign up for one organized swap (with some amazing demonstrators) and was able to make a few “extras” to share, for a total of 50 cards. I used the Lift Me Up stamp set and the soft color combo of Pool Party, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam. My favorite part has to be those Glimmer Paper clouds, though. You can never have too much sparkle!
We did have a fun team dinner one night in Orlando and these are the little gifts I made for everyone on the team. I decided to fill cellophane envelopes with an assortment of Godiva, Ghirardelli and Lindt chocolates and used the same stamp set and color combo.
I actually arrived in Florida 5 days before OnStage began. I had a nice visit with my mom and to be honest, she was a HUGE help in getting all of these projects finished on time. I couldn’t have done it without her. I brought all of the supplies down in my suitcase and we had a little assembly line going to get everything put together. My mom was the queen of Stampin’ Dimensionals and rhinestones but wanted nothing to do with the bows. Haha!
Here are 25 completed tags ready to be attached to their treat bags. I was a little worried that I was going to run out of cardstock but we made it work. We even got my stepfather to cut a couple of those sparkly clouds using the Big Shot, although his commitment to the project was short-lived. I don’t really see a lot of stamping in his future.
Here are both of the completed projects! We stamped and cut out 300 balloons, cut 375 clouds, punched 300 banners, used 600 rhinestones and tied 150 bows! Whew! It was a lot of fun to get them put together in time and I really enjoyed sharing them at the event.

I will be sharing an OnStage Recap video over on my Facebook Page soon to show you some of the fabulous things I received in Orlando, too. If you aren’t following my page yet, CLICK HERE. Cake Soiree for PP419

Hello and Happy Sunday! I feel like I have been missing in action for a little while after being in Florida for vacation and for Stampin’ Up! Onstage. I’m finally back home and getting back into my routine again. Whew! This week over at The Paper Players, the lovely and talented LeAnne has a fun theme challenge for us: Sweet Treats. It’s also CAS (Clean-and-Simple) week, or as I like to call it: Can I attempt to make a card using less than 6 layers week?
When I saw the theme for the week, I knew I wanted to use the Cake Soiree stamp set, as my supply of birthday cards was getting a little light. You can never have too many birthday cards on hand, right? This stamp set and coordinating Framelits, make it easy to create a lot of detail with not a lot of work. I did heat emboss the stamped image on the cake to keep the continuity of the shine from the foil paper and bling. My color combo is Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green and Melon Mambo. More on that below.
So, I have to share a funny story. In my stamp studio, I keep a box full of cut and scored card bases sorted by all of the Stampin’ Up! colors. It makes it really easy UNLESS you put the colors in the wrong spot like I did. I thought I was grabbing a Lovely Lipstick card base and it was only after I added the cake to my card that I realized that it was Melon Mambo. But like Bob Ross used to say, there are no mistakes, just “happy accidents.” So, I’m going with that!

The Melon Mambo kind of works with the lighter stripes in the Lovely Lipstick Designer Series Paper, don’t you think? Maybe? I wasn’t going to rip the card apart to start over, so I just made it work. Just let that beautiful, heat-embossed cake distract from that little detail. Haha!

Card Measurements:
  • Melon Mambo Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Granny Apple Green Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 3-3/4” x 5”
  • Lovely Lipstick Designer Series Paper - 1” x 3-3/4"

Finally here is a quick look at the inside of the card sharing a sweet birthday sentiment.

Won’t you join us and share your project this week?
You can link up your project through Friday November 23rd, 2018 at Noon PST.
