Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!
This week, Ann is hosting our Sketch Challenge.
If you’ve visited me before, you know Sketch Challenges are my FAVORITE! I love having a “blueprint” as the starting point for a card design. From there, I look through my stamp sets to see which one jumps out at me to use on the card. I think this is an awesome sketch to showcase Designer Series Paper, but it would also be really cool with a clean-and-simple design too. So many possibilities. I know this is a sketch I will be using again and again! I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!
*I’ve shared measurements and a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.
It’s no secret that I enjoy a big, bold sentiment on a card and this sketch lends itself perfectly for that. I decided to use the Good Feelings stamp set from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog for my card because that sentiment is one of my favorites…and it looks really great heat embossed.
I’m also pretty smitten with the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper from the Mini Catalog. I seriously can’t stop using the beautiful floral patterns. This paper is going to be retired soon and is currently “while supplies last”. So, if you have your eye on it, you might want to scoop it up soon. I love the combination of Pretty Peacock and Poppy Parade with that little pop of pink. So pretty, right?
Measurements and Details:
- Pretty Peacock Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
- Poppy Parade Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
- Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, 6” x 2-1/4” (trim off excess) and 3-7/8” x 5/8” (interior)
- Basic White Cardstock: 2-7/8” x 3-5/8” and 4” x 5-1/4”
- Pretty Peacock Cardstoock: 2-3/4” x 3-1/2”
- Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems and Poppy Parade Ribbon (available 1/24)
- Scraps of Poppy Parade, Pretty Peacock and Garden Green Cardstock for the die-cut flower (Paper Florist Dies) on card interior
Finally, here is a peek inside the card! I used a birthday sentiment from the Throughout the Year stamp set along with a floral accent from the Paper Florist Dies. I feel like the sentiment on the front of the card could be used for a lot of different occasions, so it would be easy to add an interior sentiment when needed. I always need birthday cards, so the choice was easy for me. :-)
I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Sketch Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday December 1st, 2023.
