Sailing Home for FF0035

Hello and Happy Friday stamping friends! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Festive Friday! Starting today through June 10th, you can link up your project for Father’s Day and/or using a BLUE color theme.
For my card, I am sharing a little sneak peek of some new products from the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog which makes its debut on June 4th. I focused on the color blue for my card, but I suppose this card could also work for a Father’s Day card, maybe with a slight swap of the sentiment. I created this card for a friend who recently received a promotion at work and this sentiment worked perfectly.
These nautical-themed products are in the Come Sail Away Suite, which includes the Sailing Home stamp set, Smooth Sailing Dies, Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine and the Sail Away Trinkets. In addition, I used the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies behind the sailboats and sentiment. I just love how everything coordinates, it really made the card come together easily.

I’ve listed all of the products I used below, just remember that these new items will be available starting June 4th. Not too long of a wait!

Today’s Colors:

For the little sailboats, I stamped them once in Night of Navy ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock and again on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I used the Smooth Sailing Dies to cut out the boats stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock. Then I used my Paper Snips to cut out the sails from the images stamped on Whisper White. I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the white sails on top of the die cut boats for some extra detail. I also used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add a little detail to the “water” under the boats. It’s a subtle detail that really looks awesome in-person.

Card Measurements:
  • Night of Navy Card Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock (embossed with Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, sponge Crumb Cake ink around edges) - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (navy/white stripe) - 1-7/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Come Sail Away DSP (inside card) - 1” x 4”
  • Night of Navy Cardstock and Come Sail Away DSP cut with Stitched Nested Labels Dies
  • Whisper White and Crumb Cake Cardstock scraps for stamps/dies
Here is a look inside the card where I added a strip of DSP along with the stamped images using Night of Navy ink. It ended up being a perfect congratulations card to celebrate a job promotion, don’t you think?

So, what do you say? Head on over to the Festive Friday blog to check out the challenge and join us! We’d love to see your projects celebrating Father’s Day or showcasing the color BLUE…or a combination of both. It’s up to you! You can link up your project through Monday, June 10th at 8:00 pm CST. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Everything is Rosy Mini Pizza Boxes

Hello stampers! Today I have a fun and easy treat box to share with you using the Everything is Rosy Product Medley. This is an awesome suite of products available through May 31st (or while supplies last) from Stampin’ Up!® and has everything you need to create beautiful papercrafting projects.
Everything in the photo above (and more) is included in this kit! CLICK HERE for more details. Now if you know me, you know that I am a HUGE fan of anything pink and rose gold. I was very fortunate to be able to demonstrate this product medley at Stampin’ Up!® OnStage in April, so I have been enjoying these products for quite some time now. Although the colors in the suite are fabulous, the stamp set takes on a whole new look when you ink it up in a variety of different colors.
It’s probably not a surprise that I used the color combo of my blog as my inspiration for this project, right? I just love the look of bright and cheery yellows with a subtle gray. So pretty! If pink isn’t involved, yellow is usually my second favorite “go-to” color.

Today’s Colors:

Let’s talk for a minute about treat boxes. Stampin’ Up!® has a few options to make sharing a little treat or gift with someone special super easy. The Mini Pizza Boxes are one of my favorite treat holders! They are easy to assemble and have so many possibilities to dress them up. What you put inside is up to you. I’ve used these a lot for everything from candy, to scented tea light candles, to little lotions and hand gels. How about a little collection of 3” x 3” note cards and envelopes? Yup, they fit as well. You can even spritz some ink on the outside of the box to change up the color.
Measurements and Details:
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock - 3-1/4” x 3-1/4”
  • Gray Granite Cardstock - 3” x 3”, embossed with Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock - cut using 2-3/4” scalloped Layering Circles Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - cut using 2-5/8” Layering Circles Dies
  • On Whisper White circle, stamp sentiment and leaves in Gray Granite ink, then thank two of the small floral images in Daffodil Delight ink
  • On a separate piece of Whisper White Cardstock, stamp medium floral image in Pineapple Punch ink, then stamp small “center” of flower in Daffodil Delight ink, stamp leaf image in Gray Granite. Cut out using Everything is Rosy Dies, then pop up on circle using Stamps’ Dimensionals.
  • Use Sprig Punch on Vellum Cardstock to add accent. Use Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for sparkle. Add to back of popped up flower using a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Add rhinestones

To adhere the ribbon, I added two little strips of Tear & Tape to the back tabs on the pizza box (see photo above) then I ran the Daffodil Delight 1/4” Double Stitched Ribbon snugly around the box. Next, I took a second piece of ribbon and tied a bow, which I added to the front of the box with Mini Glue Dots.

I hope you enjoy this little treat box today. I’ve listed all of the products I used below.

I also want to remind you that there is still a little time left to purchase Everything is Rosy.
