Sailing Home for FF0035

Hello and Happy Friday stamping friends! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Festive Friday! Starting today through June 10th, you can link up your project for Father’s Day and/or using a BLUE color theme.
For my card, I am sharing a little sneak peek of some new products from the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog which makes its debut on June 4th. I focused on the color blue for my card, but I suppose this card could also work for a Father’s Day card, maybe with a slight swap of the sentiment. I created this card for a friend who recently received a promotion at work and this sentiment worked perfectly.
These nautical-themed products are in the Come Sail Away Suite, which includes the Sailing Home stamp set, Smooth Sailing Dies, Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine and the Sail Away Trinkets. In addition, I used the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies behind the sailboats and sentiment. I just love how everything coordinates, it really made the card come together easily.

I’ve listed all of the products I used below, just remember that these new items will be available starting June 4th. Not too long of a wait!

Today’s Colors:

For the little sailboats, I stamped them once in Night of Navy ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock and again on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I used the Smooth Sailing Dies to cut out the boats stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock. Then I used my Paper Snips to cut out the sails from the images stamped on Whisper White. I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the white sails on top of the die cut boats for some extra detail. I also used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add a little detail to the “water” under the boats. It’s a subtle detail that really looks awesome in-person.

Card Measurements:
  • Night of Navy Card Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock (embossed with Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, sponge Crumb Cake ink around edges) - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (navy/white stripe) - 1-7/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Come Sail Away DSP (inside card) - 1” x 4”
  • Night of Navy Cardstock and Come Sail Away DSP cut with Stitched Nested Labels Dies
  • Whisper White and Crumb Cake Cardstock scraps for stamps/dies
Here is a look inside the card where I added a strip of DSP along with the stamped images using Night of Navy ink. It ended up being a perfect congratulations card to celebrate a job promotion, don’t you think?

So, what do you say? Head on over to the Festive Friday blog to check out the challenge and join us! We’d love to see your projects celebrating Father’s Day or showcasing the color BLUE…or a combination of both. It’s up to you! You can link up your project through Monday, June 10th at 8:00 pm CST.
