When I get new products, I like to use the project samples in the catalog as a starting point for creative inspiration. There are SO many awesome ideas in the catalog and it’s a fun way to dig into those new products and start using them.

This card is a CASE of a card featured in the new Mini Catalog. So, what does CASE-ing mean? I’ve heard it described two different ways: “Copy-and-Share-Everything” or “Copy-and-Selectively-Edit”. Personaly, I like the second term a little better, because I usually find that I never truly CASE a card EXACTLY. I did add a few more layers and some extra details to it because that’s how I roll. Haha! I did stick with the gorgeous color combo featured in the catalog, which completely made me fall in love with purple. I’ve never really been a “purple fan”, but this card changed that for sure. Now, I’m Team Purple ALL the way!

Color Combo:
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Gorgeous Grape Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Purple Posy Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, sponge Highland Heather ink over polka dot Decorative Mask using Sponge Dauber and emboss using Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper: 1-1/2” x 5-1/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock: scraps for stamping and die cutting (sentiment stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink, 3 sets of flowers in Highland Heather / Gorgeous Grape Ink and three sets of leaves in Granny Apple Green Ink)
  • Purple Tri-Color Ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (inside card): 3/4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, a peek inside the card. I simply added another strip of the Designer Series Paper and a stamped flower. Initially, I was going to add a stamped birthday sentiment, but decided to just leave it blank for a handwritten note.

Sweet Ice Cream Calendars for Facebook Live

Hello everyone! Because Christmas falls on Friday this year, I changed up my Facebook Live schedule a little this week. I went Live on Wednesday at 5:00pm CST with this adorable Sweet Ice Cream Calendar Card. These make great little gifts that can be displayed all year long!

Please join me over on on my *Stampin’ Anne Facebook Page* Friday at 4:00 pm CST, where I share some fun Stampin’ Up!® projects. If you can’t make it Live, you can always watch the replay. Also, I’d like to invite you to join my Stampin’ Anne Facebook Group for more updates, promotions, upcoming classes and exclusive projects. Everyone is welcome!

I couldn’t decide on the color combo for the card I made on the video, so I took a poll and the Terracotta Tile card base was the winner. I decided to make the Purple Posy card base (with a different sentiment) as well and wanted to share the photos here. I think they are both pretty cute, how about you?

The little calendars are from Tailored Expressions. They are sold in a pack of 10 for $3.50 at the time of this blog post. Here is the link if you’d like to purchase some: Mini Tear-Off Calendars
The cards have some extra reinforcement inside to help them stand up to display. I recommend using a strong adhesive like Tear & Tape or liquid glue to adhere this cardstock piece the inside of the card.
Calendar Card Measurements and Details:
  • Terracotta Tile Card Base (or Purple Posy): 4-1/4” x 11, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Bermuda Bay Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
  • Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper: 2” x 5-1/8” (Note: I listed this as 2-1/4” x 5-1/8” in the video)
  • Terracotta Tile Cardstock (or Purple Posy): 4” x 4”, score at 1/2”, 2” and 3-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock: scraps for stamping and punching ice cream cones and scoops
  • Card #1 Ice Cream Colors: Petal Pink scoop / Terracotta Tile sprinkles and Pool Party scoop / Bermuda Bay sprinkles
  • Card #2 Ice Cream Colors: Purple Posy scoop / Blackberry Bliss sprinkles and Pool Party scoop / Bermuda Bay sprinkles (Note: for the Purple Posy ink, I talked about alternatives in the video as it is unavailable - either a Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker or Highland Heather ink stamped-off once)
  • Ice Cream Cones: stamp solid image in Cinnamon Cider Ink stamped-off once, then stamp the waffle cone detail in Cinnamon Cider Ink full-strength
  • Bermuda Bay Cardstock: scraps for stamping and heat embossing sentiment
  • Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles and Wink of Stella for accents
Here are both Sweet Ice Cream Calendar Cards side-by-side Which one of the two color combos above is YOUR favorite?
