Beautiful Peacock

Hello and Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are enjoying your day. Today I wanted to share a card that I made last week. Oddly enough, I wasn’t intending on making this or any card while I was on FaceTime visiting with a friend. Along with a few paper scraps, I had a piece of Shimmery White cardstock sitting on my desk along with the (unopened) Beautiful Peacock stamp set. While we were chatting away, I just started stamping with some colors that I liked and this was the end result . The stamp set is photopolymer so it is really easy to see exactly where you are stamping on your cardstock. I love that!

After I stamped the image, I added a little popped-up piece of Glimmer Paper over the wing along with some rhinestones and shimmer ribbon. The Shimmery White cardstock really ties it all together. Plus, the clean design makes it easy to drop this card in the mail to brighten a friend’s day.
Both the Beautiful Peacock stamp set and the Shimmer Ribbon Pack are exclusive to Stampin’ Up’s Sale-A-Bration and are FREE with a qualifying order. You can get one for free with a $50 order or both for free with a $100 order. There are also many other awesome options in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Clean and Simple Tutti-Frutti Hello

Hello there! I’m not sure where this week went. Time sure flies, doesn’t it? One of my goals for the new year was to come up with some regular weekly posts on my blog. So welcome to the first edition of Clean and Simple Thursday! As many of you know CAS cards are not my usual “thing." Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t love the style, I just struggle with knowing when to stop adding layers and embellishments to a card. I’m also challenging myself to make cards that are easy to pop in the mail, so hopefully trying to focus on CAS cards regularly will help.

I actually created 16 of these cards for our monthly team swap at our meeting earlier this week. One craft supply I tend to collect but rarely use is washi tape. I think I might have mentioned how obsessed I am with the new Tutti-Frutti Suite of products in the new Stampin’ Up Occasions Catalog. I decided to focus on focusing on showing the new Tutti-Frutti Washi Tape a little love on this one.. I like how it adds a fun pop of colors and pattern without adding a lot of bulk. After I got all of the washi tape down, I decided to add a tiny “slice” of the Myths and Magic Glimmer paper, because…well, it’s just SO pretty!
The Fruit Basket stamp set is photopolymer, so it is really easy to line up the images. That’s always a great thing! The sentiment is heat embossed for a little extra something-something. Finally I added a little baker’s twine bow and a couple of rhinestones. I really like the end result and I hope you do as well.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please leave a comment and say hello if you have a chance. I’ll be back tomorrow with another project. Until then, I hope you have a happy day! :)

Tutti-Frutti Greetings

Hello there and happy Saturday to you! Well, the first week of 2018 is in the books. That sure flew by, didn’t it? Today I wanted to share with you a card that I created for a swap with a few (ok, 35) of my fellow Stampin’ Up demonstrators. These went out the last week of December and today I received my swaps back in the mail and was blown away by the amazing cards I received.

I am absolutely loving the Tutti-Frutti Suite of products in the new Stampin’ Up Occasions Catalog! I have been using them non-stop and actually am finishing up an all new Class To-Go which I will be posting here on my blog really soon.
This stamp set has the most adorable little images and then there are 4 matching punches to make cutting them out a breeze. I did fussy-cut the bowls which became pretty easy once I cut about a dozen of them. I decided to use the new Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper to make that single pear stand out and play off the “You are the Sweetest” sentiment. If you know me, you know I LOVE some sparkle and in this case, a little bit is all you need. Then I colored in the “stem” very gently with a Stampin’ Blends marker. I added a lot of dimensionals to the fruit and the little basket to make them stand out. They tied in perfectly with the Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper, as well.

I added the little doily layer to being a little more texture to the card. One little tip I learned, cats LOVE to destroy those paper doilies. Because of a particularly naughty feline, I didn’t have enough doilies for my swaps. She shredded about 5 of them before I caught her! Thank goodness my awesome upline met up with me to loan me some to finish my cards. Crisis averted!
Here is a look at all of the little bowls of pears while I was in the process of getting my cards ready for the swap. It was a lot of work but when you are doing what you love, it is so enjoyable at the same time. Although I will say that fussy cutting almost 40 of those little fruit bowls made me question my decision a few times. Haha!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend and can get some time to do something crafty. All of the products I used to create my cards are listed below. You can shop anytime in my online store by clicking on any of the supplies below. Remember that for every $50 you spend right now, you can earn FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.
