Sharing Sunshine for PP547

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Laurie is hosting our monthly Sketch Challenge.
Sketch Challenge week is my favorite!! It’s always so much fun to start with the card layout and then decide which stamps to use. I recently received the Sending Sunshine stamp set and could’t wait to use it with this sketch. This little stamp set is SO cute and a great value at only $16 (US) in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.

Color Combo:

This card just makes me smile and I hope it brings a smile to your face, too! I paired up the Sending Sunshine stamp set with the Basic Border Dies, Layering Circles Dies and Dots & Checks Embossing Folders to create this sunny scene. That little smiling sun, just makes me so happy, especially with those rosy cheeks. Cuteness! I also added Wink of Stella to the stamped sun rays and those adorable cheeks which adds a lot of sparkly detail “in person”. I actually whipped up a bunch of these cards to use for my team swaps this month, too.

The rainbow striped paper really adds to the fun on this card! It comes from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper which is a Host Exclusive. It’s a HUGE pack of DSP (48 sheets!) that you can get for an awesome price with a $150 or more order. It coordinates so well with so many products in the Annual Catalog and even has some gorgeous black & white designs, which are always so versatile.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Daffodil Delight Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Polished Pink Cardstock: 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Pattern Party (Host Exclusive) Designer Series Paper: 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 3-1/4”
  • Coastal Cabana Cardstock: 4” x 3”, embossed using the polka dots from the Dots & Checks Embossing Folders
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4” x 1-1/2” and 4” x 2”, die cut using the clouds from the Basic Borders Dies
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock: die cut 1-1/8” and 1-7/8” circles from the Layering Circles Dies, stamp the sun rays on the larger circle in Daffodil Delight ink and stamp the face and cheeks on the smaller circle
  • Accent the sun rays and the cheeks with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
  • Vellum Cardstock: die cut a 2-1/8” circle from the Layering Circles Dies
  • Polished Pink Cardstock: 2-1/2” x 3/8”, stamp sentiment in Momento ink and snip off the left edge at an angle using Paper Snips
  • Pool Party Sheer Ribbon
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Pattern Party (Host Exclusive) Designer Series Paper (inside card): 3/4” x 4”
Finally a peek inside the card! I popped in a little strip of that colorful DSP and added some of the images from the stamp set to dress it up a little. I chose not to add a sentiment to leave some room for a handwritten thank you note.
I also created a second card using different DSP for the background. I thought the polka dot pattern from the Polished Pink pattern from the 2021-2023 In Color Designer Series Paper was a fun alternative. If you have visited me before, you know that I can always add more pink to a card. There is just something about the Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana color combo. It’s so bright and HAPPY! :)

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our  Sketch Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with using this awesome mix of colors! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday July 2nd, 2021

Sweet as a Peach for PP546

Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Joanne is hosting our monthly Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge.
When I sat down to create my card for this challenge I had such a wonderful idea. I literally spent about an hour and 45 minutes hashing out all of the little details on my card. Then I went to upload my card for the challenge. Oh, it’s Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Week. Whoops! I totally forgot to write that little detail in my planner. The card I made would NOT qualify for CAS in any way, so I went back to the drawing board. If you have visited me before, you might know my ongoing relationship with CAS week. I just have to laugh! :)

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:
I decided to use the Sweet as a Peach stamp set, coordinating Peach Dies and the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper for my card. I can’t say enough how much I love this suite of products! The detail in the images is so beautiful and the DSP just coordinates beautifully.

Those pretty peaches really steal the show, don’t they? I shaded them with a combination of Petal Pink and Calypso Coral ink. I also added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush after I stamped them because everything is better with a little sparkle. This card came together really quickly, which was a good thing after my hour and 45 minute card making “oops”.
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Petal Pink Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”. scored at 5-1/2”
  • You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper: 1-3/4” x 5-1/4”
  • Basic White Cardstock: die cut the second largest scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Pear Pizzazz Cardstock: scrap to stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso ink and die cut using the 1-3/8” circle from the Layering Circle Dies
  • Basic White Cardstock: scraps for stamping and die cutting the peach and leaf images
  • Stamp the peaches in Petal Pink ink, then using a Sponge Dauber add Calypso Coral ink around the edges and slightly in the center of the images
  • Stamp the leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink and the stem in Early Espresso ink
  • Artistry Blooms and Linen Thread
  • Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/2”
  • You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper (inside card): 1/2” x 5-1/4"
Finally, a peek inside the card. I kept it simple with a pop of DSP, a simple sentiment and some little floral accents. I think this is a fun card to send to a friend to just say hello and let them know you are thinking of them.
I also have a BONUS CAS card to share! Last week I had a Mystery Stamping event with my team and had so much fun, I decided to do it for my Facebook Live video this past Friday. This is a great layout to use up those DSP scraps.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our  Clean-and-Simple “Fruit & Berries" Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with using this awesome mix of colors! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday June 25th 2021
