So Sentimental Cherry Blossoms for PP502

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Laurie is hosting our monthly Theme Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
This challenge came at a really good time, as I needed a wedding card for later this month. I never seem to have wedding or anniversary cards ready to send, so this is great inspiration to get going on a few extra to have on hand.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for this card below along with a full supply list at the very end of the post.

Color Combo:

When I started making my card, I immediately was drawn to the Cherry Blossom Dies. I just love all of the awesome detail these dies add to a project. I layered them up with the branches and leaves and accented the flowers with one of my favorite embellishments: the Champagne Rhinestones. I also added my favorite “sparkle spray” to dress the flowers up a bit. I have mentioned this before but this is super-easy to make. Simply add a couple drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to a Stampin’ Spritzer, then fill it up with rubbing alcohol. Then shake, shake, shake it up and spray for lots of fabulous sparkly detail. Tip: use 70% rubbing alcohol or less, because the higher percentages tend to make the paint “ball up” a bit.

One of my favorite stamp sets for all-occasion sentiments is So Sentimental. How perfect is this sentiment to celebrate a wedding? Best part, the sentiments in this set perfectly fit in the coordinating Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I popped in some Champagne Foil because I thought it was an elegant detail. I almost NEVER use a white card base but in this case, I just felt like it worked. One little tip I have is that if you are going to use Whisper White or Very Vanilla as a card base, it’s always best to use the THICK cardstock. It just holds up better as a card base because let’s be honest, nobody likes a “floppy” card base.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Thick Whisper White Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Champagne Foil - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Peony Garden Designer Series Paper - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp sentiment from So Sentimental stamp set and die cut using Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Early Espresso Cardstock - scrap to die cut two of the branches and flower “centers” from the Cherry Blossom Dies
  • Pear Pizzazz Cardstock - scrap to die cut leaves from Cherry Blossom Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to die cut flowers from Cherry Blossom Dies, spritz flowers with a mixture of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol (70% or less) in a Stampin’ Spritzer for added sparkle
  • Champagne Rhinestones
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Peony Garden Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 3/4” x 5-1/4”
  • Add another die cut flower with leaves to the inside of the card using the Cherry Blossom Dies.
Finally, a peek inside the card. I simply added another strip of the DSP, a sentiment from the Floral Essence stamp set and a little floral accent. I totally forgot to link the Floral Essence stamp set in the product list below. You can find it HERE.

Forever Blossoms for PP476

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players. This week, Claire is our lovey hostess for our monthly Theme Challenge Check it out and play along with us!
I’ll admit, when I saw the “Love is in the Air” theme, I immediately thought of a Valentine’s Day project, but I’m kind of stocked up on Valentine’s Day cards and treat holders right now. So, I decided to take a different direction and create a wedding card using the Forever Blossoms Bundle and Parisian Dies from the Stampin’ Up!® 2020 Mini Catalog. With a switch of the sentiment inside, this would also be a fun card to celebrate an anniversary, too.

Color Combo:
I have been wanting to create with those beautiful Cherry Blossom Dies for some time now. I love the variety of sizes in the floral dies and I also love the embossed detail on the flowers and leaves. I popped up all of the flowers on Stampin’ Dimensionals to dress up the “branch”. Of course, I added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush because you can never have TOO much sparkle. I’ve listed the card measurements and details below.
I was inspired by the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for my card layout. Have I mentioned that I LOVE a good card sketch? The team at FMS always delivers!
The finishing touch on my card was inspired by the challenge over at Just Us Girls! I don’t know about you, but I never truly feel a card is “finished” without a bow, or at the very least some ribbon and/or twine. The Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon ties beautifully for a fun and fancy detail.
 Card Measurements and Details:
  • Petal Pink Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Early Espresso Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - die cut largest circle in Stitched Shapes Dies
  • Scraps of Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso to die cut flowers, leaves and branch from Cherry Blossoms Dies
  • Sponge some Petal Pink ink around the larger flowers to add subtle shading and brush Clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush on the centers or just ALL over the flowers for sparkly detail
  • Scrap of Champagne Foil Paper to die cut “Amore” sentiment from Parisian Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 1-1/4” x 5-1/4"
Finally, here is a peek inside the card. I used sentiment from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set along with more of the beautiful DSP and a little die-cut floral accent.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Theme Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday February 7th, 2020
