International Highlights Top Ten Winners Blog Hop - June 2020

Hello stamping friends! Earlier this month, I participated in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights. The card below is what I made for the event and you can find more details about it by clicking HERE
Thank you SO much to everyone who voted for my project! I am so over-the-moon excited to have been voted into the Top Ten. As a Top Ten winner, we are invited to participate in a separate blog hop and that is what I am sharing with you today. I am so honored to participate in this blog hop with so many amazingly talented Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators and want to send a big THANK YOU to the amazing Kylie Bertucci for hosting this monthly event.
The theme of our blog hop this month is “THANKS” and I really enjoyed putting this card together. Two of my favorite things are bright and cheery colors along with big, bold sentiments. I think it helps to put the “Happy” in Happy Mail. :)

Two products I seem to keep reaching for in my stamp studio over that past week are the new Playful Alphabet Dies and the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper. The alphabet dies are the perfect size for cards and the patterned paper is a fun mix of polka dots, stripes and other fun designs. I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for this card below along with a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Color Combo:

To add just a little more to the bold sentiment, I pulled out the Ornate Thanks Bundle for some smaller sentiments to add a little more interest. Of course, no card is ever finished until the sparkles make an appearance. Once  adhered the letters to the Night of Navy Die cut (from the Hippo & Friends Dies), I spritzed it with a mixture of a few drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer. One little tip, it’s best to use rubbing alcohol that is 70% or LESS for this technique. Anything higher than that and your shimmer paint might “curdle” and that’s no fun. The finishing touch was to add a few Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins to keep the “polka-dot party” going on this card.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Thick Whisper White Card Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • Night of Navy Cardstock - 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (Calypso Coral polka dot pattern) - 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Silver Foil Paper - 2 pieces, each measuring 1/4” x 3-7/8”, die cut using the dotted border from the Ornate Borders Dies
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (white polka dot pattern)  - 1-1/2” x 3-7/8”
  • Night of Navy Cardstock - scrap to die cut the (3-3/4”) frame from the Hippo & Friends Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to die cut letters from Playful Alphabet Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 2” x 3/8”, stamp sentient from Ornate Thanks in Calypso Coral ink and snip both ends at an angle using Paper Snips
  • Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 5-1/4” x 4”, stamp sentient from Ornate Thanks in Night of Navy ink
  • Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 1” x 5-1/4”
Finally here is a look inside the card using a little pop of that patterned DSP and a coordinating sentiment.

Celebrate Sunflowers for PP0497

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Claire is hosting our monthly Sketch Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
I *might* have mentioned it before but sketch challenges just make me HAPPY! I’m always so inspired by simply looking at the layout and figuring out which products come to mind to bring the card layout to life. The first thing that came to mind for this card (with all of those fabulous layers) was to showcase some of the new In Colors along with the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle, which is one of my new favorites.

Color Combo:
The star of the card is obviously that big, bold sunflower! I just love all of the detail in the Sunflower Dies and there are also fun little accent dies in the set too. I popped in a couple of leafy accents die cut in Vellum, for some added detail. The Vellum just adds a light layer that adds detail but not a lot of extra bulk to the layout. I’ve listed all of the measurements and details below and there is a full supply list for this card at the end of this post.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Just Jade Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Bumblebee Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (Cinnamon Cider pattern) - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (sunflower pattern) - 3-1/4” x 4-1/4”
  • Just Jade Cardstock - 1” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
  • Bumblebee Cardstock - scrap to die cut solid sunflower inage from Sunflowers Dies, use Sponge Dauber to add some Bumblebee ink to image
  • Cinnamon Cider Cardstock - scrap to die cut sunflower outline and center of flower from Sunflowers Dies, use Sponge Dauber to add some Cinnamon Cider ink around image
  • Add Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to accent the sunflower and add three Gold Gilded Gems to center of sunflower
  • Vellum Cardstock - die cut two if the leafy accents from Sunflowers Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - stamp sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set in Soft Suede Ink, then die cut using the 2-1/4” scalloped stitched rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Approx. 2” piece of Bumblebee Gingham Trim, adhere behind the scalloped rectangle sentiment
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 1” x 5-1/4”
Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a little pop of that beautiful DSP and left lots of space to write a handwritten note.

I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our Sketch Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! You can link up your project through Noon PST on Friday July 3rd, 2020
