Dragonfly Dreams Projects for Facebook Live

Hello everyone! This afternoon, I went Live on Facebook to share three fun projects I created using the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and the coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. The projects were inspired by the little 3-winged guy in the photo above who flew onto our patio a few days ago. Aren’t those colors gorgeous?!

Here are the three projects I created. :)
My first project was this easy treat box/bag designed to fit a hand cream from Bath and Body Works. I wanted to create this project around the colors of the little dragonfly in my yard and they happened to have one that matched perfectly.
Here is a close-up of that fantastic shimmer from the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
Next up, a little Ghirardelli treat holder featuring the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series paper, which is retiring May 31st, or while supplies last!
Again, I carried the Wink of Stella throughout the projects to give the dragonflies a little pizzaz!
Finally, here is a card which is also a gift card holder. I originally saw this card idea shared from Julie DeMateo over on her blog, The Paper Pixie. I am always looking for fun ways to send gift cards and this is such a cool card. You can just switch up the DSP and main image for any occasion.
Here is a look at the inside of the card, with the little gift card tucked in it’s pocket. Of course, the project wouldn’t be complete without lots of layers and sparkle.

All of the products I used to create the projects will be listed along with the measurements.

Also, if you put in an order in my online store ($30 minimum) by Monday April 30th, 2018 at midnight, I will send you these three make and takes for free! You will receive all of the supplies to create the projects but it will NOT include any stamped images (per Stampin’ Up! policy). I’ll also include another little handmade treat for you to say thank you for your order.

You must use Hostess Code GV97KNZQ

That’s how I will know that you ordered and so that you get your make and takes. ($30 minimum)
If your order is over $150, please DO NOT use the Hostess Code, so that you can earn the Hostess Rewards. I will still send you the make and takes, along with an extra gift.

Remember, orders must be placed by Monday April 30th, 2018 at midnight for these make and takes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Remember that I’ll be back on Facebook Live next Thursday May 3rd at 2:30pm CST, so be sure to join me. I’ll be sharing some more projects here on the blog in the coming days as well. Until next time...

Have a HAPPY day!

Share What You Love for PP390

Hello and Happy Sunday to you! I’ve been busy in my studio today working on a few different projects and wanted to share this card with you today. Usually when I am searching for inspiration to get started on a project, I usually look to an online challenge for a little “creative mojo”. This morning, I headed over to one of my favorite challenge sites, The Paper Players, to see what they were sharing this week. Jaydee created an awesome sketch this week and I couldn’t wait to play along.
I decided it was time to finally start using some brand new stamps, papers and embellishments from the Share What You Love Suite of products from Stampin’ Up! The collection is available to demonstrators now and customers can start purchasing different bundles from this suite starting May 1st. I’ll have more info on that later.

The stamps and papers in this collection are gorgeous! For my focal floral image, I stamped the watercolored background first in Berry Burst ink, then stamped the flowers over the color in Momento ink. Then I fussy cut the flower trio and covered them in the Wink of Stella glitter brush. Then I inked up the watercolor wash again in Tranquil Tide ink. Using a piece of scrap paper, I stamped the image once, then once more before stamping it onto the Whisper White cardstock so that the ink was not so dark. I stamped the flowers over the color and then popped the sparkly Berry Burst flowers over the stamped flowers, using Mini Stampin Dimensionals.
Here’s a close-up of the sparkly paper-pieced flowers. I added some pearl accents to dress them up a bit more, along with a little Silver Baker’s Twine bow. The little doily on the left of the main image has a cool “pearlized” effect and I just added a tiny peek of it for an accent.
Finally, here is a quick shot of the inside of the card. Just a little piece of DSP and one of the coordinating stamps. I stamped in Tranquil Tide ink, then colored the flowers in with a Berry Burst Stampin’ Write Marker. Of course, they weren’t complete without some Wink of Stella glitter.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Please leave a comment to say hello. I’ve listed all of the items used to create my card below. As a reminder, the Love What You Do stamp set, Share What You Love DSP, Share What You Love Artisan Pearls and Pearlized Doilies will NOT be available until the exclusive bundles are released on May 1st.

Also, be sure to stop by The Paper Players to join their sketch challenge this week! :)

Have a HAPPY day!

Sweet Stampede Blog Hop - Retiring In-Colors

Hello Stamping Friends! Today I am sharing a card I created for our team blog hop! Chances are you arrived here from my amazing friend and upline Erica Cerwin’s blog. Welcome! Every month our team, the Sweet Stampede, will be sharing some fun projects and I’m excited to play along this month. We are focusing on the Retiring In-Colors. Which one is your favorite?

When it comes to my favorite retiring In-Color, it would have to be Peekaboo Peach! It WAS Flirty Flamingo, but now that we know this little gem is going to be hanging around in the new catalog, I went with my second favorite. I also created 10 of these cards for one of our team swaps this month. I made 2 different cards for the swap and will post the other one later this week.

On my card, I paired Peekaboo Peach with Soft Sky (another retiring color) and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. There are so many awesome prints in this paper, I’m thinking I might want to grab another pack of it before it officially retires.

I don’t know if there is an “official” name for this particular card fold. I want to call it a “tri-fold shutter card” because that’s what it looks like to me. I’m sure there is a fancier name for it out there somewhere, so if you know what it is, let me know. :)

Here are the measurements:

  • Sofy Sky card base - 5-1/2” x 11”, score at 2-1/8” on one side then flip it over and score at 2-1/8” on the opposite side to create the “shutters”
  • Peekaboo Peach cardstock - 1-3/4” x 5-1/4” (cut 2 of these)
  • Naturally Eclectic DSP - 1-1/2” x 5” (cut 2 of these)
  • Whisper White (inside) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Naturally Eclectic DSP (inside) 1/2” (give or take a little more) x 5-1/4”
  • Old Olive Belly Band 1” x 11-1/2”  (you can trim what you don’t need, it’s not an exact thing here)
  • Soft Sky cardstock - piece for 3rd largest Layering Circle (scalloped) Framelit
  • Whisper White cardstock - piece for 3rd largest Stitched Shapes Framelit

This card has a little “belly band” to keep it closed. Just slide it off and the card pops open. I just love a fun fold card, don’t you?

Y’all, can we just have a moment of silence for my favorite retiring product…Peekaboo Peach 5/8” Crinkled Seam Binding Trim. Not only does this trim have a TON of texture and dimension, it ties “like buttah” and that makes it extra special. I know not everyone is going to get that reference, so let’s just say it makes your bows look amazing and super fluffy.
The sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set was embossed in Versamark Ink and Copper Embossing Powder. I’s almost like a rustic version of Peek-A-Boo Peach and adds a pop of shine, which I love.
I dressed up the inside of the card with a Happy Birthday sentiment, also from the Beautiful Bouquet set and added a little strip of DSP for a “pop” of pattern.

I hope you will join us on our hop today, From here, you will join Britney. Hop on over to her blog to see what she has shared...
