Happy Sunday, friends!
Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players!
This week, Ann is hosting our Theme Challenge.
I will admit, this challenge had me scratching my head a bit at first. But when I read Ann’s post, It really got my creative wheels turning. She said: "You can feature rocket ships, astronauts, celestial bodies such as the sun, moon, stars or planets, and more. Simply let your imagination take flight into the stratosphere!" I knew I surely had something in this craft room that would work. Boom, I remembered that I recently bought the Stargazing Designer Series Paper because I needed the Pumpkin Pie pattern in the stack for another project. Now, I had to make it all come together…
I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create!
*I’ve shared measurements and a full supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post.
Color Combo:
I decided to use the pattern with the pink and orange planets, because let’s face it, if pink is a choice, I’m always choosing it. I combined it with the Berry Burst star pattern and then started searching my sentiments for a suitable match. I came upon the Botanical Layers stamp set and though the “You mean the world to me” sentiment might be the winner. I think that one little planet on the top right is earth, so it kind of works, right? Let’s go with it!
I heat embossed the sentiment on black to not distract from the space pattern and added some gold Simply Elegant Trim behind the sentiment to look like the rings on two of the planets. I’m guessing Saturn and maybe Jupiter…but Neptune and Uranus have rings too, don’t they? Yes, they do. That 4th grade Science class is coming back to me now. Haha!
Well, the rings on Saturn and whichever planet the other one is, were dusted with Wink of Stella for some sparkly detail. Even planets need some glittery goodness after all. I decided to add a layer of vellum behind the sentiment to give it a little extra pop and added three gold Festive Pearls for some “stars”. I think it’s a fun card and I hope you do as well. :)
