Spring has Sprung for Third Thursday Blog Hop

Hello there! It’s time for our monthly 3rd Thursdays Blog Hop. For March we are celebrating the spring season with a “Spring has Sprung!” theme.
I have really been trying to focus on showing some love to my neglected stamps from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog lately. So, for this challenge, I knew exactly the set I wanted to use: Hanging Garden
When my husband and I purchased our home, the previous owners had put a LOT of work into the yard with gorgeous plants and landscaping. We fell in love with it immediately…however, it is a lot of work to maintain. Spring is a very busy season around here and this set just makes me think of all of the new plants and colors we will add to the yard this year.
For my card, I actually recreated a card I had previously made last year with this set. As I was picking out new colors, I realized that I never shared the original card on my blog. Oops! So you will get to see that as well.

What I love about this stamp set, is that it is super easy to color with Stampin’ Blends markers. You can add a lot of color and detail and it really brings the images to life. The Basketweave Embossing Folder adds great texture to the card, too. I also added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the flowers for some added sparkle. It’s hard to see in the photo. To add a little “shadow” around the plant hangers, I traced over them with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends marker. It just gives it a little “pop."

Today’s Colors:

  • Lovely Lipstick Card Base -   4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”

I also wanted to share an additional card using this set with a little different layout and color scheme:
