Sunny Garden Thanks

Hi everyone! It's finally Friday! Are you doing the "Friday Happy Dance" out there? :) This week has been a busy one for me and because of that, my stamp room has been very quiet over the past few days. (*insert chirping cricket sounds here*) I actually made this card on Tuesday and have been somewhat hesitant to post it because I'm not sure if I really *like* it yet. But, as I have nothing else created at the moment, it will have to do.

I have really been trying to challenge myself lately to break into the (many) unused products sitting in my craft room. I was so excited for the Sunny Garden DSP when the new SU! catalog launched back in July. I HAD to have it (along with the Daffodil Delight Taffeta ribbon you also see)...so I immediately added it to my first order from the new catty. Yup, almost 5 months had passed and I had not used either of them! Eeek!
I tried to give the bright papers and sponged "sky" a little bit of a "warmer" look by adding in the Chocolate Chip (embossing and card stock) color. I think the addition of that color is WHY I am not sure if this card makes me happy. (...SO strange because, usually, Chocolate Chips can ALWAYS make me happy! Haha!) I also really meant to paper pierce around all the layers but started sticking it all together before I remembered that little tidbit, *sigh*! So, what do you think? Is it too dark? What would you change, if anything? I would love to hear your comments and feedback. :)

Before I forget, I thought I would share a recent photo of "the boys" in their sweaters. It has been chilly here at night so they need to stay cozy. I took the photo with my iPhone so it's a little fuzzy, sorry.

  1. I like it Anne! Very pretty in such lovely colors. Like how you rounded the corners too. Lovely card.
The boys look like they're probably staying warm and cozy!

  2. It is a pretty card! I looks so warm and inviting, like a summer sunset. I love that stamp. One of these days I'm going to buy it.

The boys look adorable in their sweaters. We are in Wisconsin (22-degrees today!) and neither of my dogs will wear a sweater. The lab tries to chew it off and the cocker hides and won't come out. In fact, unless it is below zero, my cocker loves to lay in the snow (sans sweater of course).

Have a great week end. I am hoping to kick my cold. It is sapping my mojo and I have a bunch of projects I need to get done this week end.

  3. I think it is a really pretty card, love the colors and the embossing, reminds me of a beautiful sunset. Awww, if your boys don't look so cute in the sweaters. Lucky will not wear anything, although I do have what I call his Marlboro Man jacket he wears when it is cold out, but it is because I make him wear it. Have an awesome weekend.

  5. How cool your colored background is with your silhouette flowers.

Your boys are looking very dapper in their winter wear.

  6. I think it looks fabulous! The chocolate chip is a nice contrast to the softer colors.

  7. What a dreamy, beautiful scene you created here!! I love how the silhouette just glows....*swoon* You are right, chocolate chips always make me happy...both the color & the chips! :o)

oh, your "boys" look sooooooo adorable in their gear. Mine wouldn't last in his for more than 5 min...it'd end up being his new chew toy. *sigh*

  9. I like it --- maybe some stitching or some gel pen dots or something around the CS. It does feel like it's missing that last step that would make it you.

You and my friend Sharon have similar crafting styles... you are over the top and it's just fabulous!

The boy are so cute! Isn't it funny how we cut their fur to make 'em look neat and then put coats on them to keep them warm? LOL Just an observation - not at all a comment on your doggie parenting skills! *wink* I used to do the same thing with my mini schnauzer.
