Got a CASE of CAS Swap

Hello and happy *fabulous* Friday! Today I thought I would share two cards that I made for a swap on Splitcoast. Patty was our hostess for this swap and the theme was "Got a CASE of CAS". Here are the deets of the swap:

"CASE stands for 'copy and share everything' and all you need to do for this swap is to find a CAS ('clean and simple') card in the gallery and CASE it. The idea of casing a card generally means that you will use the main concept of the card and then change at least 2 things about it in creating your new card. This can mean changing the color of card stock, maybe use ribbon instead of brads, you can use a different image, or change the layout a bit, etc..."

My first card was a CASE of a card I saw HERE on Susan's blog, Susan's Day Off Creations. Funny thing is, I think I picked the only card from her blog that she did NOT post in her Splitcoast gallery. Oops! I have had the 2-Step Owl punch since it came out, but this was my first time to actually use it for a project. These little guys are SO stinkin' cute! I added some Crystal Effects to their eyes and to the heart on the wee dude in the middle to make him a little more "one of a kind".
My second card was a CASE of this card HERE from Paula on SCS. I completely over-complicated the flower element on the first 2 attempts...I had to keep reminding myself it was a clean and simple swap. I was making some crazy 3-D flowers that would never actually fit in the envelope to ship them out. I saved them for another project though. (*wink*) I have to admit, I had to resist the urge to add lots of layers to both cards but in the end, I was happy with how they came out. Hope you like them, and my attempt at "clean and simple"! Thanks for visiting today! :)

  1. Anne Marie,
I LOVE the owl one--they are so stinkin cute!

  2. These are both so cute! Think I might be CASEing your flower card. Dang,I don't have the owl punch, so I can't CASE that one.

  3. Cute - and pretty!!! The owl card is just adorable! Love those little guys - guess I'm just going to have to CASE you AND Susan!
Love that second card too....just lovely.

  4. Both of your cards turned out so cute! I especially love those owls! I love my owl punch too, I even used it to make my daughter's birthday invitations for her surprise party. Her party isn't until next month so I can't post the card just yet.

  5. The owls are so cute! I haven't had a chance to play with my owl punch mom has though! I'll have to check and make sure she hasn't absconded with it. LOL
Love your flower card too...CAS cards are the best sometimes!!

  6. Both of these turned out so great, Anne Marie! The owls are absolutely adorable, and I love the little guy in the center with his glossy heart! Nice touch.

I find CAS cards to be so hard for me! I always want to add more things. But it'd be fun to go really CAS sometime, just to see if I can do it! You've inspired me! Maybe I'll to one this weekend.

  7. Cute cards & I LOVE the owl one! Very nice work & tfs!!!!

  8. Before I comment, just wanted to let you know I left a little something for you guys on my blog, head on over and I hope you will accept ;) Your cards are so cute, my resolution is to work on CAS, just can't do it. Love, love the owls and I don't sue them enough, after seeing your sweet little owls, will have to dig them out. Lovin' the flower. You did a great job with the CAS.

  9. Super cute! I love these owls! The people in the swap will be really happy to receive these.

  10. Wonderful cards. They may be clean and simple, but they sure have lots of interest and the mix of papers and colors really have a lot of pizzaz!

  11. Love both cards, but the owl one made me say Ahhhhhh! Can't wait to get the punch so I can CASE you! (We have been told it is coming in our April mini!)

  12. Anne Marie, both cards are great. Love these little owls !

  13. Oh my goodness, such delight!! THe owl card is being adorable - so full of detail and a fabulous color combo! I just love them both - superb! Beautiful case cards yet such a wonderful spin with your own signature lovely touches - I hope your having a lovely weekend! x0x0

  14. I love your owls in purple and green. Thanks for the shoutout. I would never have guessed this was a case of that card if you hadn't mentioned it (mostly because I forgot I made that card).

The flower card is so pretty. I remember that retired DSP. I think I still have some.

  15. very the owl trio...they are quite dressed up! :)

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
Have a great day! :)
