Hand Stamped Sentiments #74: Buttons!

Hi there! It's Hand Stamped Sentiments Tuesday! This week we are all about projects featuring BUTTONS! Any buttons, any design...we want to see how you can showcase these little gems on YOUR creation!
If you have visited my blog before you may have heard about my fear, ok, that was a bit dramatic...how about my weirdness about "naked buttons". If given the chance, I always seem to want to thread some string, cord, floss...etc. through these little buggers. Well, I decided to use the Bitty Buttons today, backed with card stock from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. Funny, when you add a card stock backing to these tiny buttons, threading them is a complete and utter nightmare. I spent TOO much time trying to force Baker's Twine through them before finally accepting defeat. My bitty buttons are "au naturel" and I am proud of them! I think...
My color combo is from the INFAMOUS SU! Color Coach...Daffodil Delight, *new* Lucky Limeade, *new* Island Indigo...with a splash of Real Red thrown in for fun. (That was my creative effort!) This card was also my attempt at a somewhat clean and simple (CAS) creation. I have been envious of all of the designers that can use "white space" perfectly, every time. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! :) I tried a "less is more" approach on this one. I don't know if it was effective, but I tried!

Finally, here is the inside, ready to compose a hand-written note:
So, bust out your buttons ("naked" or "dressed up") this week and play along with us at Hand Stamped Sentiments! Please stop by and check out what the rest of the Design Team has cooked up, too. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend out there and thank you so much for visiting today. :)

  6. AM... congrats on facing your fears, my friend!!!! Your buttons look fabulous nekkid! Seriously, they do. They wouldn't have looked as fabulous with "clothing"!

I think you did a fabulous job inside and out with this card. LOVE IT! and I am so proud of you for facing up to your fears... ahem... I mean dis-interest in using buttons!

  7. Had to laugh at your button issues. I am a fellow button dresser (maybe we need a support group?). Your undressed buttons look great though! Love the colors you used too!

  8. I LOVE your naked button card! It's fantastic and really caught my eye. Fab colours you combined them with. I had a fabulous long weekend of the Canadian sort - hope yours was great too!

  9. Anne Marie, I found your blog via a beautiful card you made in the SCS gallery. I'm in love with the itty bitty buttons and I too have quite the time with them. This is the way I've found the easiest way to get some baker's twine through them...first, use a paper piercer to poke a hole through the cardstock, then use a floss threader (think braces - I have a bridge from my high school braces)to get the baker's twine through. It works like a dream, and I've passed it on to my friends too! You've inspired me to make a card for my hubby - we're about to celebrate our ninth anniversary - and I always like to incorporate the number into the card somehow! Thank you!

  10. WoW! Love this card!! The Lucky Limeade is sooo cute. We've not got that yet in the UK and I can't wait!

  11. That card is SO awesome! Great use of the buttons and I love your colour combo :)

  12. Your card looks FAB Hun! Naked buttons & all LOL!!! I have the buttons but not the matching punches so I need to get on that...TFS!!!!

  13. Wow! I LOVE this card! I have a weakness for buttons. Love, love, love the design.

  14. Yummmyy!! I love the buttons!!! Adore the red one in the middle!! Great job with the challenge. One of my favorite cards :)
