Hellooo there stampers! Hope you are having an awesome day out there. I wanted to share my card for this week's challenge over at the Paper Players! This week, Lesley is our hostess and she has a fab color trio to try.
I had a wedding card to make for our cousin and for some reason these colors seemed like they would be an elegant mix for the occasion. I got the inspiration for my layout from the sketch over at the Create with Connie and Mary challenge. They always have such great sketch ideas! :)
Overall, the card is pretty simple, just a lot of layers...I love layers! Haha! I added some bling and Glimmer Brads to dress things up along with a pretty satin bow. The framed sentiment from the Layered Labels stamp set was heat embossed, too. I love that there are matching die cuts for that set in the Apothecary Accents Framelits dies. So easy! The scallop trim punched border, under the die cut sentiment, was added after the card was put together. Gotta love when you almost rip a card apart to add an element. *sigh* But I love the added pop it gave the card and I hope the happy couple loves the card, too.
I hope you will join us over at the Paper Players this week and play along! Stop by and visit the rest of the gals on the Design Team to say hello and see what they whipped up with the colors. The challenge closes on Friday, September 14th at Noon (PDT).

One more thing, before I sign off...how about a cute kitten photo to make you say "awww"? Little Miss Abby (our foster kitty) has been doing very well, although I kind of forgot how much work little kittens can be. But she's so stinkin' cute, we really don't mind too much.
Have a HAPPY day! :)

ReplyDeleteYou card knocks my socks off Anne Marie! I bet your cousin was more than thrilled with it - and I think it was worth ripping it apart to add the scallops - a perfect touch. And the kitty - sweet! I have a weakness for little furballs that purr.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Anne Marie, this is stunning! The bling you added is perfect!! Love the layers too! I'm usually all about layers ;)

ReplyDeleteAM, I know the couple will love this card. It has just the right amount of formality and the colors work so well for a wedding card. Love the texture of the embossing with the softness of the satin ribbon. Fabulous card.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card - but GORGEOUS kitty!

Fabulous card, AM! Love the textures you've combined. The striped embossing looks like a pleated tux shirt and the satin ribbon is the perfect bow tie! These colors are so elegant and perfectly suited for a wedding card--fabulous job! Oh that little Abby is precious--how ya gonna give her back?!
ReplyDeleteSO CLASSY! What a beautiful creation and a wonderful wedding card! Love this...everything about it! Sometimes wedding cards are so feminine you lose some of the beauty with all the fussy flowers, etc. This one is rich and classy...clean and simply elegant. Thanks for playing the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Anne Marie! I am sure your cousin will love it. Little Miss Abby is so cute, and could not have found a better foster home. You are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the color combo for a wedding card! That embossed background is gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteOMG - how adorable is your foster kitty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give her a smooch from me :)
Oh...this is just sooooo stunning! Such a clean look but so many details! And as for that little kitty..ADORABLE!!!! Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

If I had a nickel for every time I had to pry apart layers to attach something I forgot...I love layers and all these are scrumptious! The embossing is so elegant and the bling is perfect for the happy couple!
ReplyDeleteA little over a year ago I adopted two kittens from my local shelter who had been fostered at the house of a loving family. I can't tell you how grateful I am that my little kitties came from a home where they were treated as treasured pets instead of living at the shelter where I'm sure their experience would have been different. The shelter staff is wonderful, but the sheer number of pets that have to care for make it very difficult for them to provide the same level of socialization the pets receive from living one-on-one with a family. It's a wonderful thing you are doing for Miss Abby (and the family that will eventually be adopted by her)!
Great card Anne. I'm sure your cousing loved it. I especially love how you displayed the bling! We have an Abbie also that came from the shelter,2 cats in fact and they make the best buddies to have around. Congrats on your new addition!
ReplyDeleteYowza!! Anne Marie this is so stunning! Love how you've used this label stamp (which I've been trying NOT to buy... after seeing your card, my reaolvd is weakening lol!) and the different embossed layers with all the bling brings everything together beautifully!
ReplyDeleteLove that kitty too - we're suckers for cats and recently adopted yet another one because it was cute and abandoned.. and boy are they a lot of work! Ours has a habit of attacking our feet and chewing on them lol!
Wow. What a stunning card and your blog is beautiful too! Thank you so much for playing along with us at Create With Connie and Mary. I look forward to seeing your work at our next challenge!
ReplyDeleteAnytime you are making layers, I know the end result will be gorgeous!! This is such an elegant piece and a perfect wedding card!
ReplyDeleteLittle Abby is so adorable!
This is a very elegant card, those colors are perfect. The kitty is so cute!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning, Anne Marie! Very elegant and classy! Great sketch! Of course, the bling is the perfect touch! And Little Miss Abby is just precious!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card! Not I need to get those dies and the stamp set.
ReplyDeleteThe card is very nice, but more importantly, that kitty cat is adorable!!! So cute looking, makes me want to go out and get a kitten LOL! I hope the new home transition with kitty goes well :-)
