Once I got working on my card and picked the papers I wanted to use, all I could think about was Starbucks...specifically a Pumpkin Spice Latte! It's almost time for those cups of deliciousness to make their appearance on the menu again. They are my favorite! Ok, enough talk about my obsession with Pumpkin Spice Lattes . You came to see a card, right? Ha!
As a tribute to the coffee, I decided on the Perfect Blend stamp set for this one. I like this set because it is easy to cut out, which makes paper piecing a snap. I could NOT cut three chevrons the same size to save my life, so I added the chevron element to the background and went with some twine and a button accent in place of the three chevrons that I couldn't produce. Gah! I sponged some ink to "dirty" the card up a bit and there you have it, a card for a coffee-loving friend. That sentiment cracks me up! All of the supplies I used are listed at the end of the post.

ReplyDeleteOh how cute....I played with this set this weekend too! LOVE it with Sweater Weather! Actually I am sitting in my warm fuzzy robe because it is CHILLY here....but not for long. Hot temps will be coming our way (probably from TX) in the next day or so! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteGreat Pumpkin Spice Latte inspired card for your coffee loving friend! I had a problem with those chevrons, too, so I'll agree that your chevron background works just fine! Bless you for your kind work for our four legged friends :)
ReplyDeleteAnn Marie... so cute. Love the washi tape look with paper and these colors of sweater weather look fab with it too. I just made card kits for the next class with this coffee set. (pool party and suede), but I really love the colors you choose and the DSP to dress up the cup looks fab! hugs.
ReplyDeletePaper piecing... now why on earth hadn't Ithought of doing that with this set!!! Genius. I love that you have two different embossed backgrounds to add even more interest. Fabulous card, my friend.

love this Anne Marie - the colors are spectacular. I'm not a coffee drinker, but have heard people talk about the pumpkin spice latte and they all say it's great - I hope you enjoy yours when it gets here.
