I decided to bust into a stamp set I have had for a while but have never inked up. Aren't those little Peeps ADORABLE? The stamps are from Close to My Heart. I have been itching to use some Stampin' Up Sweet Taffy DSP on this card as soon as I saw the theme. It's so bright and cheery! The cloud DSP behind the bunnies is from a retired SU DSP pad. I can't remember the name of it, I had a little piece of it in my scrap folder and I thought it would look perfect with the "grass" in the scene. I busted out the old-school decorative edge scissors for the grass.
Now this is going to be a shocker for anyone who follows my blog regularly. My original plan was to hit these little "Peep"-ers with some glittery embossing powder. But when I tried it out, it felt like it was just "too much" with all the colors and patterns going on. So...yes, it's true...I really skipped the sparkle on this card. *Gasp!* Generally the image below is the mantra in my stamp room...
It still felt like I needed to add something to the bunnies to dress them up a bit. So, I squirted on a little Crystal Effects to highlight around the edges and I actually really like how it came out.

Before I sign-off, here is my favorite photo of the week. This is my sweet, tripod kitty, Tony Triple Paws. He was just basking in the morning sunshine. Usually he runs when I grab the camera, so this was a pretty special occasion. Have a great day today! :)

Oh my, I love these peeps! Perfect choice of DSP and every single element--including kickin' it old-school with the edge scissors! Although there is no sparkle, the shine is just perfect for the peeps. Love your little furry peep basking in the sun. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese little peeps are adorable, Anne Marie! I love them! What a cute stamp set, and what a bright cheery card sure to make someone's day!
ReplyDeleteI love the Peeps! So, so cute! I am loving you breaking out with all these "new" products. :) Can you tell me where to buy them? ;)
ReplyDeleteThose peeps are so cute Anne Marie and the perfect pairing for the Sweet Taffy DSP! I love the Crystal Effects around the edge - it gives the little bunnies some nice definition. Hope you foot is healing and you shake off your cold real soon!
ReplyDeleteFirst, Tony looks like such a sweetie! I am so happy that he allowed his photo to be taken. Now, onto your card, I love your choice of bright, cheerfully colored DSP which goes so well with the little peeps. I sure miss the deckle scissors! I used them constantly in my older scrapbooking days. I am not sure exactly how cold it is in Texas right now, but I bet it would be a nice spring day here in Michigan! LOL Stay warm and hope you feel better very soon!
ReplyDeleteCute peeps, just a sweet little scene for springtime! The paper is so cheerful, and a perfect choice for your card!

ReplyDeleteAM, Tony Triple Paws is so gorgeous. He reminds me of my beautiful and dearly departed tripod cat KitKat - and the tripod cat we almost adopted who looks just like TTT. Your generosity warms my heart - as does this fabulous card. The trio of bunnies is just spring perfection. Gorgeous, my friend
