Falling for Leaves for PP414

Hello and Happy Sunday! This week over at The Paper Players, the lovely Jaydee has a color challenge for us. I really wanted to step outside the box with this one but my mind just kept going to the Falling for Leaves Bundle. These are perfect colors for fall! I haven’t played around with that stamp set a whole lot yet, so it was time to ink it up.
I may have mentioned it before but Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry are two colors that I tend to shy away from. However, Mossy Meadow is a gorgeous green, so that kind of made up for it. But that’s why color challenges are so fun, they can take you out of your "color comfort zone" sometimes. That’s a good thing.

I used the Buffalo Check Background stamp on Very Vanilla because I am kind of obsessed with it right now. It looks great in EVERY color! I used my Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Markers and a ruler to add some additional color on the plaid background. I like how it tied all of the colors together and that it adds versatility to the Buffalo Check stamp. Have I mentioned that I love that stamp? Haha!
I also added the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint in a Stampin’ Spritzer bottle with some rubbing alcohol to add some shimmer to the Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry and vellum leaves. It is really close to Cajun Craze in color and I really like the added detail.

Finally, here is a quick shot of the inside of the card.

Won’t you join us and share your project this week?
You can link up your project through Friday October 19th, 2018 at Noon PST.

  2. Another stunning card, Anne-Marie. Two highlights for me were the way you've added in the extra lines of colour to the checked background stamp and the shimmer sprayed leaves. You turned the background into tartan and made the leaves glow. Love it!

  3. I've been resisting this leaf stamp and die set Anne Marie, but you are making it more and more difficult with a fabulous card like this -I love that layered leaf with pearl detail! I totally share your love of Buffalo Check too - I used mine for the first time this weekend and I just can't stop playing with it!! I love how we both customised it with this week's colours - great minds think alike :-)
