Hello everyone! Today I am so excited to share two projects with you for the Third Thursday Blog Hop. I am SO excited to be on this team with such an awesome group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators. We come together on the 3rd Thursday of every month to share some creative ideas. This month our theme is “Last Minute Lucy” and I think it is pretty appropriate. Only 5 days left until Christmas, can you believe it? I always seem to end up needing a few last minute gifts so I wanted to share a couple of quick ideas with you.
Gift cards are always perfect to have on hand for a quick gift. One of my “go to” gift cards is always Starbucks. So I decided to create my projects with the Coffee Cup Framelits and Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper as my starting point.
My first project is a little envelope. As much as I think giving a gift card is a great gift, I do like to try to include a little something extra with it when I can. This envelope can hold not only the gift card, but also up to 3 Starbucks VIA drinks if you wanted to add a little extra treat There are a lot of different varieties and they are perfect for on-the-go.
I dressed up the coffee cup with the Buffalo Check stamp and a Boxwood Wreath Embellishment. I always forget to use those little wreaths and I love how it looks on this project. The little “to” and “from” stamps are from the Make a Difference stamp set. I’ll list all of the supplies I used on the projects at the end of this post.
The envelope comes together pretty quickly and I will list the measurements below. One little tip that I want to share is that if you are going to add the VIA drinks, make sure you place them inside of the envelope BEFORE you stick your adhesive down and add the “belly band.” That will ensure you have enough room for them to fit. Also I like to wrap the “belly band” so that the ends adhere in the front and can be covered up by the coffee cup framelits. I just think it gives a clean finish.
Measurements:
- Cherry Cobbler Cardstock Base - 3-1/2” x 9-1/2”
- On 9-1/2” side, score at 2-1/4” and 3-1/4”
- Festive Farmhouse DSP - 2” x 3-1/4” and 2-3/4” x 3-1/4”
- Cherry Cobbler “Belly Band” - 1” x 9”, score at 2-1/2” and 6-3/4”
My next project is a super simple gift card holder that will also fit a coffee flavored chocolate (I found mine at HEB, our local grocery store) or even a Ghirardelli chocolate square will fit, as well. Again, I used the Coffee Cup Framelits and Festive Farmhouse DSP as the focus. I just love the fun mix of plaid. I added a little pop of sparkle for the drink “stopper” and some rustic elements with the twine and burlap.
This couldn’t be more simple, y’all. It’s a simple piece of cardstock with 2 score lines. This is my “go to” when I need to make a lot of gift card holders at once. You can decorate the front for any occasion! Again, I would recommend adding the chocolate before you wrap and adhere the DSP around the holder, so you allow room for it to fit without being too snug.
Measurements:
- Mossy Meadow Cardstock - 2-1/4” x 7-1/4”
- On the 7-1/4” side, score at 3-1/2” and 3-3/4”
- Festive Farmhouse DSP - 1-3/4” x 6”
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to follow along on our hop for some more "Last Minute Lucy" ideas. Next on the list is my sweet and amazingly talented friend
