Daisy Delight Embossing for Team Meeting

Hello stamping friends! Last Wednesday I had my monthly meeting with my AMAZING team. We always have so much fun when we get together! We share successes, talk about the latest Stampin’ Up!® news, do a card swap, enjoy yummy snacks and of course, stamp. For the make and take projects, I always try to feature a specific project and/or technique so we can have some fun learning something new. This month, I had a request from the team to share some projects and ideas using embossing, which is one of my favorite things!
One of the projects we made was this card featuring the Daisy Delight stamp set. This stamp set has a coordinating punch and is now even more versatile as it coordinates with the new Daisy Lane Bundle featured in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

I paired the stamp set up with the new Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper. I have been wanting to use this paper for a while now and the color combo was perfect for this card.

Today’s Colors:

Embossing with metallics is one of my favorite things! It has such a “wow factor” and really adds a touch of elegance to your projects. I started out with the sentiment by making sure to use the Embossing Buddy on the Very Vanilla Cardstock to ensure the embossing powder stuck to the inked image and not anywhere else. The sentiment was inked up in Versamark Ink and then heat Embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool.

For the daises, I stamped two images on Crumb Cake Cardstock, then heat embossed in gold and punched them out using the Daisy Punch. Using the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker, I colored in all of the petals, trying to be careful not to color over the gold embossing. If you do color over the embossing, you can just wipe it away with a tissue. On the center of one of the punched flowers, I colored it in using the Daffodil Delight Light Stampin’ Blends Marker. It looks REALY dark when you initially color but lightens up to a soft yellow when it dries. After the marker was dry, I used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add some sparkle to the center of the flower. I popped up the flower and the sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.
Here is a close up of the embossing. I just love how this came together and it was a big hit with my team. I added some texture to the background using the new Mosaic 3D Embossing folder. Stampin’ Up!® now has a new 3D Embossing Folder Plate to use with these new folders. I’ve linked it in the product list below, for reference. For some final details, I added a trio of pearls and a little hint of Mint Macaron 1/4” Textile Ribbon. Just take two 1” pieces, fold them in half and adhere with a glue dot behind the DSP.

Card Measurements:

  • Soft Suede Card Base - 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • So Saffron Cardstock (embossed with Mosaic 3D Embossing folder) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP - 3-1/4” x 4-1/2”
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock (for sentiment, punched with Banner Triple Punch) - 1” x 4-1/4”
  • Scrap of Crumb Cake Cardstock for daisies
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • So Saffron Cardstock (inside card) - 1/2” x 1-1/2”

Finally, a look inside the card using more stamps from the Daisy Delight stamp set. I did stamp the sentiment a little off-center, but decided to just leave it "as is". I added a little banner in So Saffron cardstock to offset it a little. I mean, it IS a handmade card, so it can’t always be perfect, right?
