Daisy Lane for PP458

Hello and Happy Sunday! It’s time for a fun new challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, the always amazing Ann is hosting our Color Challenge and she has come up with a fabulous combination for us. Don’t you just love these colors together? Swoon!
Pretty Peacock has become one of my favorite colors! Paired with Merry Merlot, it’s even prettier. If you have visited me before, you may know that Cajun Craze is probably one of my least favorite colors. I don’t know why, it’s just not a color I gravitate towards. But in this combo, it makes me like it a little more…but just a little. Haha!
When I started creating with these colors, I was going in a completely different direction. I was originally going to create a Christmas card using a new ornament stamp set. However, that pesky Cajun Craze wasn’t quite working with my layout. I’m not giving up though. I have the pieces for that card all over my desk. I was running out of time to get a card finished for this challenge, so I pressed on with another idea instead.

Everything about these colors is perfect for Fall, but instead of leaves I decided to use the Daisy Lane Bundle. Now, this is one of those cards that uses A LOT of different supplies (listed at the end of the post) but I love how it all looks together. My neutral color selection is Early Espresso.

Today’s Colors:

After stamping and layering the daisies on a Stitched Nested Label Die, I used the Clear Faceted Gems in the centers of the flowers to really make them pop. Then I accented the flowers with different leafy accents. The Pretty Peacock pieces are from the Frosted Bouquet Dies. The Early Espresso leaves are from the In the Woods Dies. I also used some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, mixed with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer to make them sparkle. There are also a few vellum pieces from the Sprig Punch tucked in there as well.

The Come to Gather Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites, especially for the two different patterns on this card. That wood plank pattern is awesome! I wouldn’t mind a whole pack of just that pattern and find that I’m using it a lot! Instead of using a sentiment from the Daisy Lane set, I decided to use the new Gather Together stamp set. It just felt like it worked better for a Fall-themed card.

Card Measurements:
  • Pretty Peacock Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
