Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop September 2019

Hello and welcome to Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for September! We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all over the world sharing our love of stamping. We are all part of Kylie Bertucci’s training group where we are having a great time learning and growing our Stampin’ Up!® businesses. If this is the first time you are visiting my blog, welcome! My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in the United States. I’m so glad you stopped by today!

My card today features the Gather Together Bundle, which is perfect for the Fall season. I’m optimistic that here in Texas, Fall will be arriving soon. It’s still VERY hot here and we are ready for some cooler weather.
The Come to Gather Designer Series Paper not only has a beautiful color palette but the patterns in this paper pack are absolutely gorgeous! The pattern I used on my card looks like falling leaves, doesn’t it? That was where my inspiration started in creating this card. I can’t tell you how much I have been using this suite of products lately, they really are the perfect mix for the fall season.

Today’s Colors:

This card uses a mix of dies from a couple of different sets: Gathered Leaves Dies (for the leaves), Stitched Be Mine Dies (for the scalloped trim), Lovely Flowers Dies (for the little Soft Suede leafy accents) and the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (for the sentiment). It’s fun to pair up die sets to add those extra touches.

One tip I have for you regarding the Gathered Leaves Dies is to spritz your cardstock with a light mist of water (using a Stampin’ Spritzer) before running the leaves through your die-cutting making. This will ensure you get a really detailed embossed image and it also creates a bit of a two-toned color effect on your colored cardstock. However, I did NOT spritz the Copper Foil with water before die cutting. Foil takes on embossing quite well on its own.
The Sahara Sand Cardstock layer is embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder and then I sponged some Crumb Cake Ink around the edges and also all over the embossing for a little more definition. To finish everything off, I added a double bow of Linen Thread and then colored a trio of rhinestones using the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Marker. Since the markers are alcohol based, they are perfect to color rhinestones, pearls and even ribbon to create more versatility in your stamping supplies.

Card Measurements-
  • Merry Merlot Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Sahara Sans Cardstock (embossed with Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing folder): 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Come to Gather Designer Series Paper: 1-3/4” x 5-1/8”
  • Scraps of Copper Foil, Merry Merlot, Cakun Craze Soft Suede and Very Vanilla Cardstock for die cut images
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (inside card): 1” x 5-1/4”

Finally, a look at the inside of the card using more of the Come to Gather DSP and coordinating images from the Gather Together stamp set. There is a little ink smudge on the “w” so pretend you don’t see that. It’s handmade, so it just adds to the charm, right?
