Ride with Me for PP457

Hello and Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. Here in the United States it’s Labor Day weekend, so it’s even more fun because of the extra day off. It’s time for an all new weekly challenge over at The Paper Players! This week LeAnne has a fun Theme Challenge for us: “Down on the Farm”
When I saw the theme, so many different ideas popped into my mind but then I remembered a new (to me) stamp set and dies that I haven’t had the chance to use yet. I just love the little truck in the Ride with Me stamp set! It totally reminds me of an old truck you might see on a farm. The coordinating Truck Ride Dies are also really fun because they create a little 3-D version of the truck, perfect for some little treats. You can buy the stamps and dies separately or buy them together in a Bundle and save 10%. I’ve linked all of the products I used on today’s card at the end of this post.
Since it’s September, I’m ready for everything FALL…even thought it’s still 100 degrees here. I thought it would be fun to fill this little truck with pumpkins to celebrate the season. Since this stamp set is photopolymer, it’s really easy to line up the pumpkins in the back of the truck and I love that there are other options to add to the truck for other occasions.

Today’s Colors:
I stamped the image in Momento Ink and then colored it in with my Stampin’ Blends Markers. I colored the truck with Crumb Cake and Smokey Slate accents, the pumpkins in (what else but) Pumpkin pie with Old Olive accents and the center of the wheels with the Bronze Stampin’ Blends Marker. For the “ground” under the truck, I masked off a portion of the area and used the texture stamp from the Come to Gather stamp set (available September 4th) and filled in with some “dots” of the Crumb Cake Stampin Blends marker.

To add some shading around the image, I stamped and fussy cut another truck image to use as a “mask” over the colored image and then took my Sponge Dauber and lightly added in some Pool Party ink all-around the image. I added the ink gradually because it’s always easy to add more ink and hard to take it away.
For the accents, I used the Truck Ride Dies to cut out the wheels of the truck and popped them up on Stampin Dimensionals. Then I added some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the centers of the wheels, the bumper, door handle and window for some extra detail.

The Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper has a really fun “burlap” print, that I thought added some fun texture. Finally, I added in some Linen Thread and colored a little trio of pearls with the Pumpkin pie Stampin’ Blends Marker to accent the sentiment.
