Tidings All Around for FF0046

Welcome to another Festive Friday Challenge! For #FF0046, our festivity is National Button Day, which is on Nov 16th.  Our Inspo List features 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Incorporate THREE (or more) of the items in your project and link up to the challenge!  And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about  National Button Day – at all! Look at my card, not a button in sight. The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with some fun and interesting ideas to inspire your creativity!

For my card, I incorporated the following elements from the Inspo List:
Use Up Scraps - Wood - Texture - Circles - Fun Fold - Green

I’m really loving the Tidings All Around stamp set and coordinating All Around Wreath Dies right now! Yesterday, I shared two other cards with this bundle for my weekly Facebook Live Tutorial. You can check that out HERE. For my project for this challenge, I really wanted to make a fun fold Christmas gift card holder in non-traditional colors. All of the measurements and supplies are listed below.

Color Combo:

Mint Macaron is not a color I tend to gravitate toward. However, paired with Rococo Rose and Crumb Cake it kind of reminded me of a "vintage farmhouse" vibe. Is that a thing? I’m going with it. Ha! Even more so with the wood texture and the gingham scrap of DSP. I’m a big fan of non-traditional colors on holiday cards and I really like how it came together. What do you think?

Card Measurements:
  • Mint Macaron Card Base - 4-1/4” x 10-3/8”
  • On long side, score at 5-1/2” and 8-3/8”
  • Rococo Rose Cardstock - 2-5/8” x 4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock (embossed with Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder) - 2-1/2” x 3-7/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • 2019-2021 In Colors DSP in Rococo Rose (adhere to right side of Whisper White)  - 3/4” x 4”
  • 2019-2021 In Colors DSP in Rococo Rose (inside card for gift card) - 1-3/4” x 4”
  • Scraps of Sparkle Glimmer Paper (die-cut leaves), Crumb Cake (die-cut wreath), Mint Macaron (die-cut wreath), Shimmer White Cardstock (sentiment circle) and Whisper White (die cut circle) Cardstock
For the wreath, I die cut 2 wreaths, one in Mint Macaron and the other in Crumb Cake and then layered them together with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I went over the top of the Mint Macaron wreath with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for some sparkly detail. Then, I die cut 4 of the little leaves in Sparkle Glimmer Paper and adhered them to the wreath using glue dots. I colored 7 pearls with the Rococo Rose Dark Stampin’ Blends Marker and randomly adhered them to the wreath.

The sentiment was stamped in Rococo Rose on a small 1-3/4” die cut circle on Shimmery White Cardstock. Then I popped up the smaller circle and the wreath using Stampin Dimensionals on the largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies (cut in Whisper White Cardstock. When adhering the large circle to the front of the card, I used liquid glue only on HALF of the circle, since the other half of the circle will be visible when the card is opened. (see photo below)

Finally, here is a look inside the card. I stamped a coordinating sentiment and added another floral image. For the gift card holder, I added another scrap of DSP and then punched a little “notch” with a 1-1/2” Circle punch before adhering the fold. Then I added two strips of Tear & Tape on the top and bottom to adhere the flap down, while leaving the opening to fit the gift card.

Hop on over to the Festive Friday Challenge to see what the rest of the Design Team  shared this week. We’d love to have you join us with your project! The challenge is open from today through Monday November 11th at 8:00 PM CST, so you have plenty of time to play along.
