Basket of Blooms for PP501

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, I am super-excited to be hosting our monthly Sketch Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
It’s no secret that I LOVE sketch challenges, so I had fun designing the sketch for this one. This sketch can be as simple or as layered as you’d like. I thought that little angled element in the background would be a fun little detail to accent the focal image.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for this card below and there is also a full supply list at the very end of this post.

Color Combo:
My card uses the Basket of Blooms stamp set, coordinating Small Bloom Punch along with a sentiment from the Pretty Parasol stamp set which are in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. I love to garden, so this set was a must-have. I just love how you can build little blooming “scenes” by layering the images. I just love the “wishing you warmth and sunshine” sentiment and thought it was a perfect match for both the stamp set and the sketch.

I added little pops of texture to the background and the flower pot for some added detail. I thought the subtle pattern on angled strip of Designer Series Paper also added a nice touch of texture as well. Of course, those bright flowers weren’t complete without some sparkle using Wink of Stella and a trio of rhinestones.

Product List

  1. I love your little pot of flowers...they never need watering...or weeding! So bright and sunshiney, this card would cheer anyone up!

  2. This is a terrific sketch! Your pretty little pot of flowers and the colors you used are wonderful!

  3. A pretty sketch and lovely card - love the blooms in the flowerpot and the added texture really gives it a rustic feel!

  4. Anne Marie, I love the minimal color scheme you chose for your card. I love the texture on the layers and the little pops of pink and yellow add a summery feel. The little ribbon is the perfect finishing touch. And, I think this is a first... your card is way more clean and simple than mine and has less layers :-) Your card really is fabulous.

  5. Great sketch, Anne Marie! Your pot of flowers is just so bright and cheerful, and the combo of the three new In Colors works beautifully on your card!

  6. Gorgeous! Love the texture - the embossed background - the textural-looking DSP! All of it is wonderful and makes for a really pretty card! :)

  7. Beautiful, Anne Marie! I love these dainty flowers. What a great sketch! I had fun with it!

  8. What a great little flowerpot Anne Marie! Diagonals usually send me into a flat spin but I loved your sketch this week - bravo!
