Gathered Leaves for PP507

Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players
This week, Jaydee is hosting our Theme Challenge.
Check it out and play along with us!
This challenge came at a perfect time. Masculine Birthday cards are something I ALWAYS need but never seem to have enough of on hand. This challenge was perfect inspiration to get some fun ideas to build up my card stash for the rest of the year.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements/details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this blog post.

Color Combo:
Masculine cards are always hard for me to create, for some reason. I think it's probably because I like to add lots of sparkle and details to my cards. Less is usually more with masculine cards and that was what I kept in my mind with my card for this week.

The Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper has quickly become one of my favorites from the Stampin’ Up!®  Mini Catalog. So many cool options in the pack and it also has a lot of patterns perfect for masculine cards. I started out with the paper and built my card around that. The paper has a little bit of a rustic vibe to it, so I thought it would be fun to go with a “woodsy” theme to my card. The Gathered Leaves Dies and Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder worked perfectly together to achieve that look. I added a simple sentiment  from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and a double bow using Linen Thread. Instead of adding extra embellishments, I added a little pop of metallic detail in with the leaves.
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Pretty Peacock Card Base - 4 1/2” x 11”, scored t 5 1/2”
  • Rice Razzleberry Cardstock - 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock - 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”, emboss using the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing folder and sponge Crumb Cake Ink around the edges using a Stamping Sponge
  • Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper - die cut using the 3” x 4 7/8” rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies
  • Rich Razzleberry Cardstock - scrap to die cut two of the largest leaves from the Gathered Leaves Dies
  • Brushed Metallic Cardstock (Copper) - scrap to die cut two of the medium sized leaves from the Gathered Leaves Dies and one of the smallest leaves for the inside the card
  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock - scrap to die cut two of the smallest leaves from the Gathered Leaves Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp sentiment in Pretty Peacock Ink, die cut a 1 5/8” square from the Stitched Shapes Dies
  • Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper (inside card) - 3/4” x 5-1/4”
Finally, a peek inside the card. I added a coordinating sentiment along with a strip of that beautiful plaid paper. I stamped a little image in the corner and popped on another foil leaf to bering all of the colors from the front of the card to the inside.
