September 2020 - Stamping Sunday Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends! Today, I’m super-excited to join the September Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This hop is hosted by Sara Levin and we share on the second Sunday of every month. Our theme for the month is “Texture Time” and we are featuring ribbon and embossing from the Stampin’ Up Mini Catalog. (*see my little note below)
For this Hop, the designers can feature projects in two different ways:
  • A Beginner, Casual and Avid Card *OR*
  • A Card and a 3D Project
I created a card with a matching Post-It holder. As a self-professed lover of ALL office supplies, I think everyone can use a cute little Post-It Holder as a gift. I know I always have them nearby on my desk, and a cute holder is WAY more fun to look at than just a plain ol’ boring pad, right?
I am absolutely smitten with the Beautiful Autumn stamp set and coordinating Autumn Punch Pack right now. Not to mention the other products in the suite, like the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP, Brushed Metallic Cardstock and the ribbon combo pack.

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my projects below and there is a full supply list at the very end of the post.
Remember at the start of the post where I mentioned to “see my note below”. Well, for this project we were featuring ribbon and embossing folders from the Stampin’ Up! ® August - December Mini Catalog. Somehow I had it in my head that the Greenery Embossing Folders were part of this suite. Guess what? They are NOT! They are found in the Annual Catalog. Sigh. Even though they aren’t new in the Mini Catalog, I still think they work well with this Bundle and since the card was already assembled when I realized my oops, I just decided to go with it. Haha!
Card Measurements and Details:
  • Cajun Craze Card Base - 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Early Espresso Cardstock - 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Gilded Autumn DSP - 3 3/4” x 5”, embossed using Greenery Embossing Folder and sponge edges / embossed areas using Crumb Cake ink
  • Brushed Metallic Cardstock (copper) - 2 3/4” x 4 1/8”
  • Gilded Autumn DSP (striped pattern) - die cut using the 2 1/4” x 4” rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies
  • Brushed Metallic Cardstock (copper) - punch one shape from Tailored Tag Punch and cut in half horizontally
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock - scrap to stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink and punch out using Tailored Tag Punch
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock - stamp two leaves in Cajun Craze ink and punch out using Autumn Punch Pack
  • Mint Macaron Cardstock - stamp two leaves in Mint Macaron ink and punch out using Autumn Punch Pack
  • Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP - punch out to foiled leaves from paper
  • Tie a bow with the ribbon plus two pieces of Linen Thread and add three Champagne Rhinestone Jewels
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5 1/4”
  • Gilded Autumn DSP (inside card) - 3/4” x 5 1/4”
Here’s a little peek inside the card. I just added a little strip of the DSP and a few stamped leaves. Since this is a thank you card, I left room for a handwritten note.
This Post-It note holder is super easy to create. It needs to be functional, so it can’t be difficult to use, right? Just flip it open, grab your Post-It and write down that reminder to buy guacamole, mascara and cat litter. Not necessarily in that order, or to be used all at once.

I love making these for my friends for so many occasions and I also love how easy it is to create both the Post-It Holder and a coordinating card using the same supplies. I added some extra texture to the DSP with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder (also in the Annual Catalog) and more of that fabulous metallic ribbon
Post-It Note Holder Measurements and Details:
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock - 3 1/4” x 7”
  • On long side, score at 3 1/4” and 3 3/4”
  • Early Espresso Cardstock - 3” x 3”
  • Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP - 2 3/4” x 2 3/4”, embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
  • Tie a bow with the ribbon and add three Champagne Rhinestone Jewels
I hope you enjoyed these projects! Please continue along on the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop to check out more awesome creative inspiration.
